30 contributions to Connected Through Play
Who's on our 30 Day Leaderboard
Question for you - does the community leaderboard motivate you, annoy you, or you didn't even know there was such a thing? Skool, for better or worse, includes a leaderboard that shows member activity over 7 days, 30 days. and the lifetime of the community. I'm working on some new levels and rewards for the community and would love to hear your thoughts. Whether you love leaderboards or not, I'm excited to have so many active members and want to recognize our Connected Through Play Top 10 for the past 30 days. 🥇 @Andrew Brooks coming in at #1 this month AND holding strong at #5 all time. He was our kickoff summit speaker and brings positivity and insights to every interaction! 🥈 @Paulette Ng is #2 this month AND the all-time legend at #1, she's a UK creative powerhouse staying consistent as ever. 🥉 @Tosca Fasso #3 this month is new to the community and is already making a big impact with her thoughtful posts and clever retorts. 📍 #4 @Sandy Chong she is a light wherever she appears and is bringing sourdough mastery and humor to our crew. 📍 #5 @Paula Artis has been part of the community for a few months and consistently brings great ideas for merging tech with screen free time. She also presented a great workshop during the summit and I plan to bring her back for some hands-on time with the community. 📍 #6 @Jen Staniforth is #6 this month AND #2 all time she is a consistent powerhouse and brings her passion for babies and sleep to her posts. 📍 #7 @Chanie Twersky shares her Inner child wisdom in every post. 📍 #8 @Jenny Rader-Bakos is brand new to the community and shares her plant-based energy and community spirit. 📍 #9 @Auli Takala is another one of our core members, whether she's knitting a scarf, crocheting amigurumi, or sharing support, she's key to our community.

I don't really check it. I just love your content.
First Saturday Share
We have some amazingly talented and creative folks in this community. On the first Saturday of each month, I invite you to share your business. This could be a Skool community, an Etsy shop, a book you’ve written, an app you built, etc. Here are the rules: 1. You can only post in the comments of this thread, this makes it easy for members to find you. 2. If you do share, don’t just drop a link and ghost. Tell us a little about your product or service. Ideally, it’s family friendly. 3. Reply to one or two posts that genuinely interest you. While you may be here for ideas, getting to know folks is also a benefit. 4. Have fun.

Welcome to all!
This one's a bit long but I think you'll enjoy learning about some of our newest members. Why not pull up a virtual chair, find a new member and say Hi in the comments. For those just exploring, the Summit Classrooms: Cooking, Experts, Crafts/Hobbies, and Tech close today but you can purchase an All Access pass for $16 to see all the cool stuff you missed during our summit earlier this month. For those looking for activities, if you click the Classroom, you'll find the Curious Kitchen, Build, Play, and Story labs. Take a peek and let us know what you try. More labs posting this week. And now, without further delay - let's welcome our newest community members. We're thrilled to have a wonderful wave of new members joining us—people who get it, who believe in the power of play and real connection with the kids in their lives. @Kylie Larsen is here because she's passionate about helping students build confidence and develop winning strategies, and now she's bringing that same energy to family life. She's working through some health challenges with her family and wants her kids: Ry, Evans, and Kinley to trade screens for meaningful time together. @Krissy B is diving in with four little ones under six and a goal to get more hands-on and active in their everyday lives, a beautiful shift toward intentional parenting. @Morning Smiles is here because she's raising a future doctor and wants to nurture her daughter's ambitions while creating lasting memories together. @Angel Gerry loves the idea of using play to build stronger bonds and create meaningful moments with the children she cares about, that's exactly what we're all about here. @Angela Hawkins works with small children and is organized, caffeinated, and ready to find new ways to connect through play. @Natalie Naslund, a first-time homeschooling mom of five, wants to teach her kids to cook and share the joy of the kitchen together.

The Evidence Bag
Have you ever walked into a room only to find a mess? You ask, who did this or what happened? You’re met with shrugs, or giggles, or maybe the family pet takes the blame. Today’s story lab is all about deciphering the evidence. Here’s what to do. A handful of ordinary objects may look completely unrelated until a storyteller connects them. Reach into the Evidence Bag and invent the story that explains why these clues belong together. Gather Your Gear * Bag, box, or pillowcase * 5–8 unrelated household objects * Detective’s Journal * Pencil, crayons, or markers Choose objects that don’t immediately suggest one obvious connection. Steps 1. Fill the Evidence Bag. One person secretly chooses several unrelated objects and puts them inside. 2. Reveal the evidence. Pull out the objects one at a time. 3. Examine each clue. What is it? How might someone use it? Where might you find it? 4. Make connections. Look for ways two or more objects could belong in the same story. 5. Build your case. Invent a story that explains why every object ended up together. 6. Tell the story. Arrange the evidence in the order it appears in your story, then share what happened. There is no hidden correct answer. You are creating the explanation. What’s in your bag?

The Summit Draws to a Close- Now What?
Today is our last day of the summit and I’m excited to see what @Elliott Robertson has in store. Come join us at 1:30 Central time to discover ways to incorporate more veggies and more fun into your life. Next week, classrooms remain open and all live and pre-recorded sessions are there for you to watch and experience at your own pass. Perhaps, choose one theme or topic of interest and experience those sessions. Sessions range from 15 min to an hour and many of our speakers have also provided free gifts for you. No time to watch the sessions you missed? Grab an All-Access pass for $16 (I decided, I’m not raising the price) and receive a bundle with all resources and recordings. Go to Classroom > All-Access Pass. You’ll receive access to your bundle no later than Sept 5. Next week, we’re back in our regular routine with a new lab launching and a little summit surprise. How are you going to connect through play today?
