One thing I wish more new authors understood is that finishing the manuscript is a HUGE milestone…but it’s not the finish line. Before you hit Publish on Amazon KDP, you still need to think about: → Is the title clear and appealing to the right reader? → Does the cover fit what readers expect in your niche? → Are you using your 7 backend keyword boxes strategically? → Did you choose relevant categories? → Does your description actually make someone want to buy? → Is the interior formatted professionally? → Do you have any kind of plan for getting eyes on the book after it goes live? This is actually why I’m such a big believer in planning your book BEFORE you spend months writing it. I am on C - I do have others written (Children Christman Books) sitting in an ALDI BAG LOL For years!!! But I do havae 1 book that is written, and I am preparing it for publishing. Your guidance is CRITICAL!!! We can't just write a book get it up and cross our fingers! I have this little Childrens Picture book on Amazon that just sits there cause I've never done a thing to promote it, but one of the reasons is the illustrator, I can't find her, I never bought the rights to the images and think it's probably best to get it reillustrated. A Children’s Story... 👀📚

I’m going to be honest—I am NOT the best when it comes to creating children’s stories. 😂 And one of the biggest challenges I’ve heard people talk about over and over again is 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆. You create the perfect character... then suddenly on the next page they have a different face, different hair, different clothes, or basically look like an entirely different kid. 🤦‍♀️ Well... I’ve been working on a solution for that. 👀 I can’t share everything just yet because I have some pretty epic things happening behind the scenes that I think are going to make creating children’s books MUCH easier. But I’ve been testing the character consistency piece, and for this little experiment I decided to use my son and my dog as the characters in the story. 🥹🐶 And YES—I used AI to create them. So I want your HONEST opinion... 👇 What do you think of the characters? Would you be happy with this level of consistency in a children’s book? I’m very curious to hear what you guys think because your feedback might just help me with something I’m building behind the scenes. 😉

I have been steadily working. Got through the proofread of the entire book, wrote a closing chapter I didn’t know I needed, went over the 4 instruction sections and updated them all, sent a permission letter to AA to reference their 12 steps. Now going over the chapters for updates. On chapter 3, there are 14 chapters.

Question about template screenshots...

I have tables and templates that I would like to add to a section of my book. Is this something that costs more? They are not images, and can be shown in list form, but make much more sense to see them as templates. What do I need to know about having a section of a book like that? I put it up on an Apple Book many years ago, wondering if its kinda the same thing? See screen shots
