🏆 Cycle 2 Winners Are Here!
Cycle 2 is officially wrapped, and we’re excited to announce the builders taking home a share of the $17,000 USDC prize pool. The Community Council decided to split 2nd place between two builders this cycle: 🥇 Knock by @Kaichao Sun: $7,000 An encrypted chat built on Nimiq where users can set a connection cost for strangers while keeping conversations private. Knock also supports sending and receiving NIM directly in chats, tipping other community members, and joining public group conversations. 🥈 Blacktop by @Jesse Lukose: $4,000 A privacy-first ride companion built for real riders and real rides, whether you’re riding solo or with a crew. Blacktop combines ride tracking with Pay Up, its built-in wallet, plus Blacktank, a shared crew fuel pot that only pays out with a unanimous vote, and instant QR tips in NIM or USDT. 🥈 NIMIQ.kids by @Andjroo Me: $4,000 A family Mini App that turns chores into real NIM. Parents set rewards, kids complete jobs, and approved rewards are sent directly to an account the child owns. Kids can then spend it on screen time and treats, keeping the whole flow within the family. 🥉 PROOF by @Christopher Okunade: $2,000 A learning platform that combines AI-powered skill paths, real-world challenges, and verified proofs to help users demonstrate what they can actually do. The goal is to turn learning into something you can prove, showcase, and use to unlock new opportunities. Big thanks to the Community Council for reviewing every submission and selecting this cycle’s winners. And of course, thank you to everyone who built and shipped a Mini App this cycle. You made Cycle 2 one to remember, and we’re excited to see where you take things next. Want to dive deeper into the winning submissions? 🎤 What Did You Think of Cycle 2?
We’re already thinking about how to make Cycle 3 even better, and who better to ask than the builders who just went through Cycle 2? You spent 4 weeks building, shipping, demoing, and competing. You experienced the whole thing up close, so we want to know what worked for you, what didn’t, and what you’d like to see next. Here are some prompts to get you started, but feel free to go off script: - What was your favorite part of Cycle 2? - What was the most frustrating part? - What helped you the most while building? - Was anything confusing or unclear? - What should we do more of in Cycle 3? - What would you love to see added? Drop your thoughts below. Good, bad, or somewhere in between, we want to hear it. ✍️

Well done team, Cycle 2 was a really great experience! - Favorite part: The weekly meetings and demos were really helpful and cool. Seeing what each team was building kept things interesting and inspiring. - Most confusing: Understanding how Nimiq Pay manages balances wasn’t very obvious, especially how it depends on HTLC contracts. There also wasn’t much documentation on this. - For Cycle 3: It would be great to have clearer documentation and perhaps an API for interoperability between Nimiq Pay and Nimiq Wallet.

A few miniapps (Snowflakes, NimBooks) already tried Knock chat as the way to acquire and communicate with test users. Looking for more miniapps join us 💐!
Feedback for Knock Chat miniapp
Hey everyone! 👋 I just shipped a miniapp called KnockChat, designed to help protect you from scams. It currently supports encrypted direct messages and public group chats. To get started, simply open https://knockchat.org on your mobile browser or via your Nimiq Pay. I’ve also created a Nimiq community group chat, where you can send and receive NIM, or gift some NIM to other community members. 🎁 Feel free to join here via the invite link or just scan the QR code: https://knockchat.org/?group=568e48c7-68de-4997-ae1b-49f207cc0605 Would love to hear your feedback!

Cycle 2 submissions banner image - what's the name and where is it stored?
I just browsed through the Cycle 2 submissions in the Nimiq Pay app. Stoked to see stakes there. And then I realized there is a graphical asset I wasn't aware of, which is the banner. Is there any documentation available on how to provide and update this? Thank you.
