R&Q Pacing Strat
Because I always have to send this dm, I thought I would just make a post: The Core Strat: Accuracy Over Speed Do NOT read faster: Trying to speed-read ruins your accuracy. Grabbing the "main idea" from a quick skim is way harder than it sounds. The real trick: Fully understand every single line. Get exactly what the text is saying the first time so you don't waste time rereading. Emergency fallback: If you are totally running out of time (this doesn't work 100% of the time, but it helps), read the first line and the last line to get the general idea, and just skim the middle. How to Train Read heavy texts: Practice with dense reading material, like articles from Nature. Annotate and summarize: If you can make clear annotations and write the simplest but strongest summaries for those dense articles, the SAT passages will not be nearly as bad. The Test-Day Execution Plan You have to make the test work for you by creating the easiest test possible. YES, skip questions! Here is the exact order to tackle the test: Phase 1: The Quick Points: Do all the vocab, grammar, transitions, and student notes questions first. Try to get 100% accuracy here. When you finish these, you will be left with a LOT of time. Phase 2: The Vibe Check: Go to the comprehension questions. Gauge the difficulty and length of the passage. If it seems short or the question looks easy, do it. Phase 3: Highlight & Bail: If a reading question is taking a lil longer, just leave your highlights on the text and move on immediately. Tackling the Leftovers Save the super long questions for the end. Usually, I am left with something like 2 graph/chart questions, 1 long passage, and 1 dual comprehension question. I like to attack them in this order: First, Graphs/Charts: These take time because you have to read both the visual and the text. Next, The Long Passage: it already has my highlights, so I can just read those highlights and choose the best answer. Last, Dual Comprehension: because I just hate them but they r easy to guess on

@Sruthi Gudimella ok ok i am pretty brain dead rn
I need some adivce...
Soo ive been stuck doing nothing the entire summer and now and its been bummin me down. Idk really what to do . Im stuck between like two sides of a coin and its the option of having a job that will grow my experiences or a job that will pay more money that one that grows experience/ looks decent on college apps. Im likely gonna major in like CS or Engineering of some sort in college im not 100% sure still trina figure it out, but ive applied to like so many places near me to just get denied. For example i thought that like best buy geek squad is a good medium between the two but i got denied b/c of no work experience. I even applied to their retail position at like 2-3 locations and got denied from that aswell. Ive gone to local shops trina ask around if they are hiring, shops meaning like stuff that handles with tech n what not ex:phone repair, and ive just gotten nos left and right. I dont really know what to do with my time and i wanna apply myself somehwere but its hard to when theres nowhere to do it. I also like just need money for a car, gonna need to pay for college and any other expenses that come along yk.
