@Patty Rose and I were just chatting about how the notifications are still out of control EVEN with making the adjustments on the back end and @Lisa Drennon finally convinced me to just hit "Delete All" on the 550+ that were constantly taunting me. As you all might know by now, I'm all about how great Substack is for your home for long form content paired with Skool for offers and community... Even @Heather Boers has a Substack Presence (hey girl, connect stripe - you never know someone might just want to send you money) The other day @Justin Yip asked me if Substack wasn't just like every other social media site out there - because, well he had created a post on Substack and I had found him really quickly, and subscribed, even though he never mentioned he had created an account over there. It surprised him. The question came about because of him asking me how I'd found him so fast - and that was because he had commented on something I'd posted. Substack makes following from a small comment to paid subscribers seamless - that's their business model. They get paid when you get paid. Rolling back around to why Substack isn't like every other social media site... It's designed to allow you to create long form content that you can then distribute to other channels - shorts, images, videos all created automatically from your content, podcast distribution to Apple and Spotify among others right from video content - no extra steps and it's free! There are ways to go live, record on the platform while not live, create long articles, create chat threads that can be paywalled or not - it's designed to build an email list for you that you OWN (download it anytime and move it) You retain ownership of your content - down load it too. 4 ways to email your subscribers and a 5th is being slow rolled out. (it's getting very close to an autoresponder) You can personalize content (I know the secret and our members do too) You can sell your offers on top of getting paid subscribers - you could even set Substack up as a discount club for your Etsy shop!
