Lugol’s Iodine
@Maurice Daher it’s been a while! Hoping all is well. Do you recommend supplementing with iodine without a lot of thyroid symptomes? I’m confused because I’ve seen people in the low carb space saying that we’re all so deficient and we need to supplement. I consume no sea food. My n=1 experience so far was that I reacted badly at first, but I’ve seen iodine experts saying that the more defiecnt you are, the more you’ll react at first. I slowly then increased the dose and did a salt loading protocol as well. A few things I’ve noticed: - I’m able to eat more per meal, and fats specifically (I tend to undereat and struggle to increase my fat intake). - My LDL went from 500s to 300s. I concluded that iodine is supporting my thyroid function and hence, improving the LDL clearance receptors. Was expiremnting for 2 months now.

@Mariam Als. @Maurice Daher Good question, Mariam. I'm very interested in Maurice's response. I have had multiple thyroid nodules for over 20 years. And have yet to find a solution to 'dissolve' them. I rarely consume sea food. I also had an endocrinologist tell me that "NO ONE in the United States is deficient in iodine." I never went back after that comment..............

@Maurice Daher Thanks, I appreciate your detailed replies. Currently I am taking Pure Encapsulations Iodine as Potassium Iodide 225mcg. I've not used Lugol's previously as I am not adept at how to use it appropriately for my issues.
Frothy Urine
@Maurice Daher I am working with an 83 year old male friend on his health issues. (Prostate - high PSA; and blood pressure/heart arrhythmia.). He recently told me that his urine is very frothy. A quick google search stated it could be 'excess protein leakage - proteinuria.' His eGFR in July was 87 - an increase from 70 in 2025. This is a good/positive increase, right? Due to arrhythmia (found via wearing a heart monitor for 3 days), in July his cardio doc switched him to a different blood thinner (I can't remember what he was on previously) to Dabigatran 110mg (generic for Pradaxa). He didn't like what the potential side effects are - but, he was warned about a possible stroke/heart attack if he didn't take this new med. (He had a previous heart attack in 2020; a heart stent was put in.) Question: what labs should he get drawn - or a specialized urinalysis? - in reference to frothy urine? And what labs should be drawn - and how often - to check for blood thinning issues? I get confused when researching labs to check blood thinning. Is D-Dimer one of them? Thanks in advance for your consideration of these questions.

@Leilani Tedeski Thanks for your post to Maurice. I agree 100%. Maurice is so dedicated to his SKOOL students and his clients. He should just enjoy the time with his family - and not be concerned about responding to questions while he is there. I think everyone in SKOOL will completely understand that he needs time away from work - as we all do from time to time.
COQ10 - Ubiquinol form - Kaneka trademark
@Maurice Daher - Can you please discuss COQ10 - and when it is appropriate to take this supplement? Are the blood serum labs reliable? Should we test for COQ10? If so, what is the optimal range? I have been researching companies to purchase from. Pure Encapsulations does have the Ubiquinol form and the Kaneka trademark. Wow is this product pricey! Also, some companies add PQQ (pyrroloquinoline quinone) with COQ10. Is that a necessary ingredient? (I went to your mauricedaher.com website to look at your recommended products - and I don't see your store there anymore. Did you post elsewhere?) This topic would be great to discuss in SKOOL. Do you prefer to answer in this thread - or do a video - or discuss in school? Whatever you prefer. I am looking for COQ10 for 2 friends/family that have: been on statins and recently quit; have had a heart attack many years ago; 1 has A-fib; 1 has arrhythmia. You mentioned in SKOOL last week the dosage: those with heart issues take 300-400mg daily split into 2 meals; others take 200mg/day split into 2 meals. Did I get that correct? Is it a good idea to take COQ10 as a preventative and for general health? Especially as we get 'up there' in age? Thanks for your input.
