Hi everyone! I know I’ve been a little quiet around here lately, but I haven’t disappeared. I’ve been busy building something very close to my heart, and I wanted to pop back in and share some pretty exciting news. Empowering Animals is officially an IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit! 👏❤️🐾 What started as an idea to bring animal lovers together has grown into a community where we learn about incredible animals, discover the people and organizations protecting them, raise awareness, and find ways to help. Getting that determination letter in the mail made everything feel a little more real. And I’m so excited to see what new doors this opens and where Empowering Animals goes from here. I’ve missed being in here with you all, so this seemed like a pretty darn good reason to pop my head back in and say, “HI! In a First for Britain, 3 Adorable Dogs Are Working Security at Major Train Station London’s Waterloo station has become the first major train station in Britain to put dogs on regular security patrols, employing canine colleagues Riley, Buster, and Flo as part of a three-month trial to offer passengers increased safety assurance. The pups were deployed by South Western Railway and Network Rail Wessex in partnership with canine security company Alpha Canine Specialists. And although we know they have very serious jobs, it’s hard not to break out in a grin when looking at their happy faces. Riley, aged 11, and Buster, aged 9, are cocker spaniels, while Flo, aged 10, is a Labrador. This will be the trio’s final deployment before retirement — watch them on duty
