You Don’t Need Another Bible Study—You Need a Way to Study the Bible. Have you ever finished a Bible study and thought: “That was really good… but I still don’t know how to study the Bible on my own.” If so, you’re not alone. We have access to more Bible studies, devotionals, podcasts, sermons, and Bible teachers than ever before. And those resources can be wonderful. But there’s a difference between being taught the Bible and learning how to study the Bible for yourself. That distinction changed the way I approach Scripture. I wanted to be able to open my Bible to a passage I had never studied before and know what questions to ask, what to look for, and how to move from simply reading the words to understanding the truth. That’s why I created the ABIDE Method™. It gives you a simple framework for studying Scripture: 🌸 A — Ask God Begin with prayer. Ask God to help you understand His Word and give you wisdom as you study. 🌿 B — Behold the Text Slow down and observe. What does the passage actually say? What words, ideas, people, or themes stand out? 💙 I — Investigate the Meaning Look at the context. Who wrote it? Who was it written to? What was happening historically and culturally? What did these words mean to the original audience? 💜 D — Dig Deeper Explore cross-references, repeated words, important terms, themes, and connections throughout Scripture. 🌱 E — Embrace the Truth Ask, “What truth am I being called to believe, live, or respond to?” The goal isn’t to become a Bible scholar. The goal is to become confident and curious in God’s Word. To sit down with your Bible and know: “I can study this.” Because Bible study isn’t simply about collecting more information. It’s about knowing God through His Word. It’s about slowing down enough to notice what we’ve often rushed past. It’s about allowing Scripture to shape the way we think, live, pray, and walk with Jesus. 💕 So here’s my question for you: Have you ever wished someone would actually teach you HOW to study the Bible, rather than simply giving you another study to complete?
