Gambino capo, John P. “Jackie The Actor,” “Handsome Jack” Giordano. [1941-2009]. Jackie was a high ranking capo during the Gotti era. Jackie and his brother, Joe “The Blond,” Giordano, both got made during the 70's, Jackie was also the nephew of Joe “Piney” Armone, when Armone got promoted to underboss, Jackie took over his uncle's crew as capo. Giordano ran a gambling and loan-sharking operations in Manhattan and Nassau County. The operation grossed $300 million a year in illegal loans and bets, according to an indictment in 1991. In 1989, Jackie got convicted to 14 years in prison after organizing the murder of drugdealer Robert Wyler, when Jackie got out on bail in 1995, he was shot during a drive by shooting which left him paralyzed and wheelchair bound for the rest of his life. The reasons for the shooting of Jack Giordano have never been fully explained. Alleged motive was money being owed to Giordano. Giordano kept pressuring the issue, and the business owners who owed Giordano, had enough. They then contracted Ernesto Rodrigues, from the Bronx. Rodrigues was paid 50k to kill Giordano. Jackie Giordano passed away in 2009.
