Made this talking head today. In the video I say comment "free" and I'll DM you the fix, but since you're already in here, I'll just give you the whole thing. Here's the real reason most people still havent made a dollar with AI, and it's not motivation or mindset. It's that you're spending way too much time inside Claude building stuff that doesnt actually matter. I call it dopamine work. It feels productive in the moment. You're planning, you're building, you're tweaking some workflow, and your brain gives you the little hit like you accomplished something. But none of it touched a real customer or made any real money. And the dangerous part is your brain cant tell the difference between something you planned to do and something you actually did. So you feel like you're moving, and three months later you wake up and realise you havent actually gotten anywhere. I lived this for over three months, so I'm not talking down at anyone here. This was me. The fix that actually pulled me out of it: 1. Sell before you build. Go find one real business that will pay for or use the thing, before you open Claude. If nobody wants it yet, building it is just dopamine work with extra steps. 2. Make one rule: nothing counts unless it touched a real person. A prompt you refined, a workflow you cleaned up, a doc you organised, none of it counts. A message sent to a potential client, a call booked, a build a real customer is actually using, that counts. Track those, ignore the rest. 3. Time-box the building. If you've spent more time planning and building than talking to people, you're avoiding the hard part. The hard part is the sale, not the tech. The tech got easy. That's basically it. Not complicated, just uncomfortable, because it forces you to go outside and talk to real businesses instead of hiding inside a nice clean workflow. Full video is attached below if you want to watch it too. Let me know where you're stuck, happy to help.
