"My brain is overwhelmed and doesn't want to figure out how to do this." Omg, yes. This. Just today, I was delaying getting started on a product that has been on my list for a while, and now has a deadline to get me moving. But I was still finding so many other things to do instead. So I asked myself, "Why are you avoiding this?" And I figured out...it's because I didn't have a clear vision of what the finished product will look like. Once I named that, I was able to just pick a direction and start, because I'm never going to be able to visualize the finished product until there's something on the screen to work with and look at. (I'm aphantastic, so I don't see pictures in my head at all.) Anyway, the point is, I was getting overwhelmed because of all the things I didn't know and couldn't know. But once I named "I don't know what I'm going for, and that makes it hard to start," I was able to (ironically) get started.
