Today was a Great Day
One of the reasons I love hanging out with like-minded people is how much we learn from each other. Today we did yoga on the beach. And after yoga, we set our intention for the day. One of the guys said that he heard from somewhere that the first thing you do in the morning, as soon as you're conscious, is say, "Today was a great day." Then go win the day. As time doesn't exist in the consciousness or the spirit, it assumes that you had a great day, so now you can go and have a great day. In the intention setting, they took this a bit further, and we said today was a great day because... Something I'm definitely going to give a try. How about you?

I have never enjoyed yoga, but if I could do it on the beach, I'd be there every day

Genius Women!
Inspired by @Ben Sherry I'm excited to introduce you to the Genius series 💃 I've been reaching out on LinkedIn in a quirky way. Ask me about that in the comments if you'd like to know more. I'm then interviewing people as part of the Genius Series, where I will, with their permission, upload the interview to a platform of their choice. I'm also popping it onto my YouTube platform. I've been known to reach out in unconventional ways as well. I like it!

@MamaJ Hollows I just do searches for topics or jobs of interest, read their posts, if I like them, reach out. I met a local author and public speaker for lunch one day. It's amazing who you can meet
🔐 Am I Going Back to Prison?
Life has taken an unexpected twist. Back in July, I was invited to a prison down the road from me to do a guest talk. One of the guys had been writing to his buddy and had read my book, Wing of an Angel. He then invited me back for a day supporting veterans in prison, and I decided to take along @Louise Knighton And the buddy that was supporting him, we all had a fabulous day. Real interesting prisoner with an amazing rehabilitative attitude, and I even had "Play My Way" by Frank Sinatra. Oh, and a cake because it was my birthday. We did that visit without any agenda or reason other than to support the guy who had reached out and asked us to come and do a talk. It was totally voluntary, and the two girls were amazing. We had a lot of fun together. This week, the prison governor, who is called a director because it's a private prison, reached out to me to ask what it would be like if we were to provide our services into that prison on a longer-term basis. I have a curriculum and a program from my days of running the nonprofit Beyond Recovery, so I set up a call with him to discuss what that might look like. This morning, I spent 3 hours writing a proposal to take that curriculum back into a prison that I worked with in 2016. When it wasn't so innovative and to be honest, it was hard work. I've had all sorts of other ideas (being an entrepreneur) about what could follow, because that's the way my mind goes, but what I truly know is that when you do anything like this, you just submit it and you say, "We'll see." It could come off. It might not come off. Some other different thing might come off. But it reminded me deeply of how we can never know what's coming our way and what might grow from that. We can never know the impact we're having and the ripple effects from that. We can never know what life has in store for us. We just have to be ready to say yes when it offers something. I'd love to hear your stories on when this has happened for you.

I've always had weird things land in my lap. I guess the most recent was my job I have now. The company I worked for was sold and we all know what happens to upper management when a sale happens...they get replaced (and I've found out that every single one HAS been replaced except one). So I reached out to one person and within a couple of days, I had people calling me. I was "highly recommended" by the city manager. I have never even spoken to that man before, but as I was interviewing, the comment kept coming up. I got to meet him later, shake his hand, and thank him for giving me such glowing recommendations. It pays to just do good.
Sunday Funday
Whatcha all up to this weekend? Send your pictures if possible:) Friday I took a lovely long walk around Delapre Abbey (near you @Louise Knighton) with @Claire Underwood and saw the biggest pumpkin ever! Yesterday I binged watched entrepreneurs podcasts and wrote two pitches for guest speaking. Hollows went out for the day with his son. We received a cute letter from our daughter in law about visiting our granddaughter with a sweet memento so I decorated a page in my bullet journal for that. Today I’m writing for Inside Time newspaper and the final edit of my introduction for the new book - Charge Your Worth.

@Hil Kane Yep. Oxtail is the culinary name for the tail of a cow, skinned and cut into thick, bony sections.
