LABEL help us communicate, diagnoses can bring enormous relief, guide treatment, and help people find others with similar experiences. Job titles, identities, and communities give us a sense of belonging. --> The problem isn't the label- the problem is when we stop seeing ourselves beyond it. When "I have ADHD" quietly becomes "I can't change." When "I'm anxious" becomes "This is who I am." When "I'm the strong one" means you never ask for help. Research suggests labels can shape how we see ourselves and how others respond to us. They can reduce confusion and increase support, but they can also contribute to stigma or a more fixed sense of identity if we allow the label to define our entire story. At BODY_KNOWS_, I believe awareness comes before identity. Notice your patterns. Understand your diagnosis. Honor your experience. But remember: You are always more than the words used to describe you. Your body is still learning. Your brain is still changing. And your story is still being written.
