Blessing Ball of Bliss
I'm hanging out with my ten-year-old granddaughter this weekend. As I shared stories about her younger years, I was reminded of the time her Dad (my son) came to live with me "until he found a new place to live." It was March 1, 2020. A "bit" became six months, and it turned into an incredible opportunity for the three of us to bond. My granddaughter came every weekend, and we made the best of my one-bedroom condo. Luckily, I have a very comfortable couch, even for a 6' 4" tall dude. One morning I shared my "Blessing Ball of Bliss" with my granddaughter. Want to try it? Put your two hands together, and slowly move them closer and farther apart until you feel the pull of your energy vibrating between your hands. For me, it's a tingling feeling. What does that feel like for you? Then you speak out loud into that space all the things that you're grateful for. These are the blessings in your life. I started with "I'm grateful for you. Your papa. My comfortable bed. That I can see the lake from here." All the things. Then I asked her what she's grateful for: "I'm grateful for Nana's left eyeball." I broke out laughing, and that made her laugh. Out of the mouths of babes .... And last night, she asked me, "Why the 'left' eyeball?" "Well, you were lying on my left side, and I guess that was the first thing you thought about." OMG, we laughed so hard again last night. I'd love for you to share how it feels when you try this, and sometimes it takes a bit of practice. What are you grateful for right now? P.S. Unlike those early years of waking up at 6 am sharp, the new preferred wake-up time is 9:30 am. Maybe 10 am ....

This is such a beautiful and fun little story with a valuable practice wrapped up inside... the Ball of Bliss & Gratitude. ✨ I am incredibly grateful for all the love in my life, health in my mind and body, happy and joyful energy in and around me, and for the opportunity each day I wake to keep trying new things, learning and exploring and having fun on this adventure called life. 💖

The Language Portal has a new name
You may have noticed something different when you came into the community today. 🌟 The Language Portal is now Sacred Writing. 🌟 The doorway into everything we do here has always been through writing. Sacred Writing is the community we've been creating together—a place to become present, listen more deeply, access your wisdom, strengthen your voice, and allow yourself to be seen and heard through your writing. The Language Portal remains the deeper philosophy and methodology that informs our practice: where intuition becomes language and what is within you becomes something you can express and share. Write with us. The session dates and times remain the same and are on the Calendar. What changes when you treat your writing as sacred?

Beautiful. I love the name change.
Provincial State of Emergency
The smoke is as heavy as our hearts here in the Okanagan. I've been quiet these past few days as friends, family of friends, and 20,000 people have been evacuated on the west side of Okanagan Lake. There is a provincial state of emergency in BC. Please take a moment to pray with me for all the people, homes, and animals affected by the wildfires in BC and in the Okanagan, and just south of us in Washington and Oregon. I pray no more homes and properties are lost ... 230 in the Quilpituk Creek Wildfire (west side of Vernon), and they are not yet able to access the loss in Summerland due to the Bald Range wildfire. I pray stillness in the air remains and rain falls gently. My family is safe and while life is uncertain and our hearts are sad, life does goes on even amidst the chaos. I was able to spend time with my son and granddaughter yesterday, go shopping and attend a baby shower for one of my best friend's daughter. And since I was in West Kelowna, I visited another best friend. (West Kelowna is directly across the lake from me, and the fire storms are raging out of control North and South of the their community). The lay of the land is hard to wrap your head around. Before I moved to Kelowna and worked in the Toronto office, I was so confused by all the colleges in the Okanagan. They were all named Okanagan College ... Kelowna Campus, Vernon Campus, Penticton Campus, and Salmon Arm Campus. The Okanagan Valley is a region in South Central BC where Okanagan Lake is surrounded by mountains. It is a four hour drive from Kelowna to Vancouver with two high mountain passes between us. Thank you for your prayers and thoughts. Praying your Sunday is peaceful. Some of our smoke is from the wildfires in Washington and Oregon. Where are you in the world? Are you safe? Let us bring you into our awareness and prayers.

I’m so glad you and your family are safe, but my heart hurts reading this and seeing how many fires are happening right now. 💛 Thinking of everyone who has been displaced, those waiting to learn what has happened to their homes, the animals, and all of the crews working in such awful conditions. Praying with you for calmer winds, rain (please... lots of rain), and safety for everyone in the path of these fires. Sending so much love to you and everyone across the Okanagan and beyond. 🙏💛
Vacation Time: I'll leave this with you
I'm heading out in the morning for a family vacation. I'll be back next Monday for Sacred Conversations with our VIPers, and Tuesday evening for our co-writing session. Until then, I'd love to leave you with this. As you listen, gently close your eyes and open yourself to receive. If it resonates with you, imagine your crown chakra opening to Divine wisdom and simply notice... What wants to flow through you? Have a beautiful week, and I'll see you soon.
