4 Week Challenge Result - From 237 W to 232 W (-2,1%)
I have finished my 4 week challenge. My goal was to get race-ready for GFNC Grand Ballon. I did the same 20 minute FTP test as a month ago. Here’s what I wrote 4 weeks ago: ‘’Hello world :) My name is Finn I am a student from Frankfurt. I bought my first roadbike in the summer of 2024 after my K1 coach told me I needed to train my stamina. After that I really got a passion for cycling. I had my first race shortly after, it was the Cylassics in Hamburg. I applied for the 4 week challenge, because I want to get race ready again. This July I will be racing the GFNC Grand Ballon. I hope to learn new training methods and to get consistency into my training. Cheers!’’ My 4 Week Challenge Results: • 90% of workouts completed as planned • Result 20 min test 1: 237 Watts • Result 20 min test 2: 232 Watts • -2.1% Improvement • FTP from 225 -> 220 Watts Personally I really enjoyed the challenge, having someone in this case Arne :) doing most of the thinking helped a lot. I was able to incorporate the training into my busy schedule quite well. The communication was peak, Arne replied to all my questions and wishes quickly and helpful. I loved the Yoga sessions. While being really relaxing they also improvement my posture on the bike. I learned a lot about how to structure your training far more then let’s just say yeah lots of zone 2 and then intervals. Even tho my FTP declined during the Challenge, I feel stronger on the bike. I came into the challenge with a big disbalance of my right leg being significantly weaker because of a knee injury last November. Now my right leg is almost on pair with the leg one, big part of that I believe the gym session to have done. Also my conditions for the last ftp test where not optimal, I had a hard schift as an service in a restaurant it was almost 38c temperature. I will do another ftp soon and update you guys with the results. I really liked like I said the yoga and how well the trainings plan met my recovery, it felt like I was always recovering but in a positive way, like progress.

I dont think your ftp really declined you were probably dehydrated. Also the weather changed a lot in the last 4 week making efforts harder.

I did the same 20 minute FTP test as a month ago. Here’s what I wrote 4 weeks ago: ‘’Hi everyone! My 4-week challenge starts today and I'm kicking it off with an FTP test to see where I currently stand. My last result was 220W and I'm hoping to push past that. Fingers crossed! With my only event of the year coming up in August, now feels like the perfect time to stop winging it and start training with real structure. No more just "riding and hoping for the best." My main goal: improve my overall w/kg enough to actually contribute in a group ride. That means holding my own at the front in the wind without blowing up, and surviving climbs without going deep into the red just to stay in touch with the group. For every single workout over these four weeks, I'm committing to one simple rule: complete it in full. No cutting sessions short. Oh, and the weather in southern Germany? Not exactly cooperating for the next few days. But honestly, that's just one more thing to overcome. 💪 Let's get it!’’ My 4 Week Challenge Results: • 100% of workouts completed as planned • Result 20 min test 1: 213 Watts • Result 20 min test 2: 215 Watts • 0.9% Improvement • FTP from 202 -> 204 Watts How do you feel about your challenge? - Very positive. It was interesting diving into a professional training environment and having a structured plan to follow. This made it very convenient to stay on track with the plan. What did you learn? - I definetly learned a lot about my power zones since I had no experience riding based on power output. - I can now assess much better how hard I can ride for how long until I go bust. Did this challenge help you move closer to your goal? - Even if it does not show in the numbers, riding my bike outside feels much more easy and efficient. Especially on uphill sections I can feel that I can hold my pace more easily. So even if my FTP did not improve in the tests, my feeling tells me that I definetly benefitted from the challenge as riding feels easier, faster and hence more fun.

2w is 2w and thats a win. Do you mind charing your avg Hr in the intervals. it could well be that your Hr was lower on the 2. test
