Everything sellers! Show me your photography setups!
Morning everyone 👋 I currently photograph all my items using natural light, which gives me great results. The problem is, now the weather has turned, the light isn’t nearly as consistent! I’m also buying and selling larger items, so my 1-metre photo cube isn’t going to cut it anymore that I used last year. I’ve seen quite a few people using LED panels and ring lights, but because I photograph a lot of electronics with glossy plastic and screens, I’m worried about reflections and harsh highlights. I’m thinking a studio light with a large softbox/diffuser might give me a similar look to natural light. The only catch is that I photograph everything in my kitchen-diner, so whatever setup I go for needs to be fairly quick and easy to put up and take down each day. What lighting setups are everyone using? I’d love to see your setups or hear any recommendations, particularly from anyone photographing electronics or larger items. Thanks in advance for any ideas and inspiration! 👍

@Kevin Johnson clothing must be the dream for photos, storage and packing. I dabble but I just find electronics more fun to sell… u til I have to pack them up 🤣

AI Activate and ChatGPT Work / Codex
Is anyone using the eBay AI Activate workspace in ChatGPT? I have used it for a while but I keep hearing that there are new features in ChatGPT which allow it to have sight of an open web browser and also to have access to your photos or documents in windows file explorer using either ChatGPT Work or something called Codex. I'm trying to navigate through this as it would speed up my listing times if it could look directly at my Chrome browser (for ending and selling similar - optimising titles and descriptions), and also if it had direct access to my eBay photos folder on my PC (removing the need for me to copy and paste photos into the ChatGPT chat). Can anyone offer advice on setting this up because there seems to be some restriction accessing ChatGPT "Work" within the AI Activate workspace. I think i'm too old for this- now know how my grandparents felt when I used to get called over there to set up their video recorder lol.

Hi Nick, I have had the same struggles and believe it's the limitations within what eBay allows its enterprise users to access. On a personal account all those features are there. I guess it all depends if you want to pay for it out of your own pocket and use eBays for free. I have ended up just using eBay's but creating a GPT that I can drag a few photos in and it creates all the text for me to click to copy and then paste into eBay, Vinted and Facebook Marketplace along with suggested pricing for each. It has certainly helped me speed up listings. Happy to share a link to it if you wanted to take a look.

Even though it might not have been the best at least it was on 🙂. All the bootsales in Essex have been called of this week due to the rain. Fingers crossed for the weekend.

@Rachael Fantastic There sure is. You're definitely right there. Mondays are generally terrible, but it only takes one stall!

🎯 Focus on testing and photographing overflow stock that is taking up floor space. (Large items take priority) 🎯 Compare console sold prices on eBay to CEX voucher prices and trade in what is needed 🎯 Continue to explore possible ways to automate the listing process within eBay AI activate. Personal GPT is good so far by dropping in pictures and generating all content for eBay, Vinted and Facebook Marketplace but requires manual copy and paste to each platform. 📦 List 8/10 per day on eBay 📦 List 3/5 per day on Vinted 📦 Drop off all orders daily

1. Go through the death pile in the outside storage containers 2. Research other stock suppliers for the winter period 3. Test, clean, photograph and list at least 3 of the 12 Xbox Ones from the gaming death pile!
Any shoe experts in the house?
Evening all. I picked up these Nike Air Jordan 1 Low Travis Scott’s at the weekend. They feel and look good but due to them being an expensive shoe I want to check they are authentic before listing. The seller was a cash for clothes but I also bought a lot of new balance and other authentic shoes from them before. I uploaded lots of pictures into chat gpt who think they are genuine. 🤞 Happy to attach other pictures if needed Thanks in advance 👍

The results are in! I’m guessing they must have been good fakes for the only reason to be flagged was the slightly thicker font on one of the tags. At least I didn’t list them and sell them!

@Jo Goodchild I know, they were very good copies. Shame they are not my size 🤣
