Dear Everyone 💜
☸️ Practice for 7 Days
Whenever something triggers you—anger, irritation, fear, excitement, or frustration:
STOP → BREATHE → OBSERVE → RESPOND
1. 📱 Someone sends you an irritating or spam message
Reaction:
You immediately type an angry reply.
Pause:
Put the phone down. Take 3 breaths. Notice: “I am irritated.”
Response:
Read the message again after a few minutes and decide whether a response is actually needed.
2. 💼 A colleague criticizes your work
Reaction:
“I worked so hard, and you're finding faults?”
Pause:
Breathe. Notice the feeling of defensiveness.
Response:
Ask: “Is there something useful in this feedback?”
3. 🏠 A family member says something that hurts you
Reaction:
You immediately bring up something they did in the past.
Pause:
Feel the hurt. Don't speak for a few seconds.
Response:
“I felt hurt when you said that. Can we talk about it?”
4. 🚗 Someone drives dangerously in front of you
Reaction:
Honk, shout, or become angry.
Pause:
Take three breaths and notice the anger in the body.
Response:
Slow down and continue safely.
5. 🛒 Someone jumps ahead of you in a queue
Reaction:
“Hey! Can't you see there's a line?”
Pause:
Notice irritation before speaking.
Response:
Calmly say, “Excuse me, the line starts behind me.”
6. ☕ Your morning doesn't go as planned
You spill your coffee just before leaving for work.
Reaction:
“Today is already ruined!”
Pause:
Stop and breathe.
Observe:
Notice how quickly the mind creates a bigger story from a small event.
Response:
Clean it up and continue your morning.
7. 💬 Someone disagrees with your opinion
Reaction:
“I know I'm right.”
Pause:
Notice the urge to prove yourself.
Response:
Ask:
“Can I listen without needing to win?”
8. 💰 You see something you really want to buy
Reaction:
“I'm buying it!”
Pause:
Wait 24 hours.
Observe:
Is it a genuine need, or simply desire?
Response:
Choose consciously.
9. 😔 You receive disappointing news
Reaction:
Immediately imagine the worst possible outcome.
Pause:
Breathe and notice the thoughts.
Response:
Separate what actually happened from what the mind is imagining.
10. 🗣️ You are about to say something hurtful
This is perhaps one of the most powerful pauses.
Before speaking, ask:
Is it true?
Is it necessary?
Can I say it with kindness?
If not, pause.
