Embracing change
I began reselling part-time in 2018 and went full-time in January 2021. The whole time, I’ve always listed on my phone via the eBay app and then, once I added Vinted into the equation, via the Vinted app.
Over the last week or so, I’ve switched to my MacBook and I’m part delighted at how much quicker I can do it and part annoyed at how much time I’ve wasted over the years using the clunky apps 😂
I was trying to work out what my barriers were in terms of increasing my daily/weekly listings, so I thought I’d trial the MacBook way. Once I got the hang of it, I’d estimate I’m doing listings in about half the time I was on the apps. With the apps, there’s a lot of just waiting for pages, drop-downs, etc. to open.
I manually cross-list as well. Even on the phone, it’s only about a 60-second job to cross-list to Vinted, but on the MacBook I’d say I’ve already got it down to about 20–30 seconds, as I do the listing on eBay and then just copy the details across.
So I was just wondering: firstly, do people list on their phone or laptop/desktop? And secondly, is there anything you’ve maybe been stubborn or set in your ways about that, once you finally changed it, you couldn’t work out why you’d waited so long?
