Hey everyone, welcome. This is where birth workers at any stage can come for community, support, and healing. I'm Kristen. I worked as a doula for a decade before becoming a nurse and now a practicing midwife. I have experience caring for people inside and outside of the hospital. Currently, I am a hospitalist in a high risk rural practice, supporting hundreds of families through labor each year with a humanized approach. I also bring my training as a perinatal mental health specialist (soon PMHNP) here. Keeping ourselves well in this profession is not easy, but it can be done. If you are looking to deepen your skills and practice, or need an experienced midwife to chat with and back you up, I'm here. My aim is to bridge the gap between doulas and providers, offer ongoing education and coaching support to newer doulas , RNs, and midwives, and to assist people working with birth in processing the things we see all the time. Together, we will create support out of thin air. Onward!
