Franck Olivier: Oud Touch
Today I was craving something special, unusual, appealing and enjoyable especially to me. So, I went ahead and chose this hidden gem. A niche, oriental, woody, and spicy DNA done at its finest. People compare it with Dior Oud Ispahan.
This one is for the oud lovers or adventurers, not for the faint of hearts. Launched in 2014, it opens with a sweet, floral and woody/animalistic aroma. Then transitions to a more fruty/floral facet with a toned down oudy nuance. The dry down turns to a luxurious, sophisticated, subtle but present sweet, ambery, musky and woody aroma. This is definitely a cooler weather scent, special occasions or night outs, with powerful projection and longevity.

For those of you that don’t know the brand, here is its history translated from their website:
“Franck Olivier Paris:
The art of french perfumery for over 30 years.
A Visionary Perfume House:
Franck Olivier Paris is above all the story of an encounter: between couture and perfume, between France and the Mediterranean, but also between a family and all the talents that participate in the creation of a perfume.
Originally, Franck Olivier was a French fashion brand, founded with a simple idea: to offer quality elegance, but accessible.
Not wishing to give the brand his own name, its founder chose those of his two sons: Franck and Olivier. Over time, this name took on a symbolic dimension. Franck evokes the French roots of the House, while Olivier recalls the emblematic Mediterranean tree, a symbol of transmission and longevity.
In 1993, the House opened a new chapter by dedicating itself to perfumery and maintaining the high standards, attention to detail and French know-how.
A Unique Olfactory Signature:
Even today, Franck Olivier Paris remains a family business, run by two generations. Each fragrance is born from a collective effort with perfumers, artists and designers, then it is smelled, discussed and reworked until it finds its perfect balance.
Our conviction is simple: a quality perfume should never be a privilege. We create accessible, expressive and personal fragrances, designed to accompany everyone and become, over time, a true signature.
Perfumes made in France, inspired by the world, created for the world and revealed by those who wear them.”
