Going with Raptor by Perfu Adictos today. This is one I’ve been curious about because Perfu Adictos seems to be gaining a lot of traction online, and I wanted to see if there was actually something behind the hype. The first thing that surprised me about Raptor is how fresh it comes across. From the name, I expected something much darker and heavier. Instead, I get a bright citrus opening with a fresh, almost minty aromatic feel. Then some warm spice and sweetness start working their way in before it settles into the woods. There is almost a cinnamon/Big Red gum type of warmth running underneath that freshness, but it doesn’t turn overly sweet or gourmand on me. It definitely leans masculine to my nose—fresh, energetic and modern, but with enough spice and warmth to keep it from becoming another basic fresh fragrance. Performance is strong so far. It gets off the skin quickly, creates a nice scent bubble and has more projection than I expected at this price point. I also think this is much more warm-weather friendly than the name and presentation would lead you to believe. I could easily see myself wearing Raptor during an Arizona summer morning or evening. For roughly the $50 range, I’m impressed with what I’m smelling so far.
