At 28 years old, I suffered a stroke and was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. My blood sugar was nearly 1,000, and the life I knew was shattered.
I had to fight just to move normally again—long before I could return to weightlifting, fitness, or jiu-jitsu.
Insulin saved my life, but I needed more than a prescription. I needed someone to help me understand my body, rebuild my strength, and believe that my diagnosis did not have to define my future.
So I became the person I needed when I was first diagnosed.
That experience led me to help found Chronically Healthy and later become a personal trainer. Now, I help others connect the dots between their symptoms, labs, nutrition, lifestyle, and physical strength.
My diagnosis became part of my story, but I refused to let it become the author.
Now my mission is to help others do the same.
