Chime
I have been using Chime for 2 months now. I like how I can do instant transfers through Apple Pay. What I feel is the best part is the ability to turn the card on and off. I don't like the subscription model, but it is the way the economy is moving. Not the fact of the subscription itself, but the loss of control when the payment is taken out. It wreaks havoc on budgeting.
I enjoy the notifications that Chime sends. This is a common practice, but Chime takes it one step further. Not only does it tell you the amount of the payment, but it will give you your balance in the same text. Great for controlling spending.
This one made me smile. When paying for gas at the pump, cards will automatically pull the funds for a retainer. Common practice, but where Chime shines is how quickly it puts the funds back into your account. Most banks will hold the funds for 2 to 3 days, especially if it is a weekend. After getting gas, I saw my balance drop below what I expected. I investigated the hold, and before I left the gas station, it corrected the $150 retainer to the correct amount. Giving me a sigh of relief.
I like Chime and will continue to use it as my main account, transferring funds to my other accounts as needed. I am sharing this with the Credit Avengers to give it a try. It's always nice to have multiple accounts, especially free ones.
