Chat and Cowork are now one.

Claude decides which tool your task needs.

And it just got two brand new superpowers.

Let me break it down.

🗞️ 𝗕𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗦 🗞️

Anthropic merged Claude chat and Cowork into a single interface.

Anthropic announced yesterday that Claude chat and Cowork are merging into one Claude. No more guessing which tab a task belongs in ~ start with a quick question, turn it into a multi-step project, and Claude figures out the rest on its own. Artifacts, projects, and the shared memory from August's update all live in one window now.

The company also launched Claude Docs and Claude Slides in beta. You can create, edit, and present documents and slides inside a single conversation, export docs to Google Docs or Word, export slides to PowerPoint or PDF, share them with a link, and edit everything on your phone. Claude Design, the visual tool from April, now works inside any conversation too.

A couple of honest caveats. This is rolling out to Pro and Max subscribers first over the coming weeks ~ Team and Free plans come later, and enterprise admins get 30 days notice before anything changes. There's nothing to turn on. It just shows up.

Why it matters to you: this is the AI-assistant era in motion. Your AI doesn't ask you which tool to use ~ it just knows. And notice the pattern ~ Anthropic is answering OpenAI's July launch of ChatGPT Work. Both giants are building the same thing: one place where regular people get real work done. That's the future we're training for right here.
