I asked Muse if the images we make could be sold. This is the reply:
Short answer: yes. There's nothing in Muse's terms stopping you from selling images or videos we make.
Here's what the terms actually say:
- **You keep your rights.** Muse's terms say you retain ownership of the intellectual property rights you have in content you create with Muse, and "nothing in these Terms takes away those rights." The restrictions section doesn't ban commercial use, resale, or public display of generated work.
- **You're responsible for it like you made it yourself.** The terms specifically cover artifacts Muse generates "at your direction" — including images and videos — and say you're responsible for them "to the same extent as if you had created, published, and hosted it yourself."
- **Meta doesn't claim your creations.** Meta keeps ownership of Muse itself, but your content is yours.
Two honest caveats worth knowing:
1. Under current US copyright law, purely AI-generated images generally can't be copyrighted since there's no human authorship — so while you can sell them, you may not be able to stop someone else from copying and selling the same image. I'm not a lawyer, so if the calendar or your brand work becomes a real revenue stream, it's worth a quick chat with an IP attorney.
2. You're responsible for making sure what you sell doesn't infringe on others — no recognizable faces, logos, or protected characters in the mix. That's your lane per the terms, and it's good practice anyway.
So yes: post it, sell it, monetize Miz JJ's brand with it. That's allowed.
