Same request, two different prompts. Look at the gap.
❌ Vague: "Write me a caption about productivity."
✅ Detailed: "Act as a productivity coach. Write a
3-sentence Instagram caption for creative entrepreneurs
about protecting focus time. Direct, encouraging tone.
End with a question. Output: [the format you want back,
like one caption, or three options to choose from]."
The first one gives AI almost nothing to work with, so it
fills in the blanks with the most generic version
possible. The second one gives it a role, a specific task,
and exactly what the output should look like, so there's
nothing left to guess.
→ Role
→ Task
→ Output.
Every strong prompt has those three
things in it somewhere, even a short one.
Try both of these tonight in whatever AI tool you use and
see the gap for yourself. Then tell me how different the
results actually were.
