Answer to yesterday's was A (resilient).

A bit of a hard question, but it says it is strong UNDER adverse conditions. Durable more just means it is strong, not that it is under pressure.

DIFFICULTY: HARD

Two pumps dispense liquid at constant rates. Pump A dispenses x milliliters per second, and pump B dispenses y milliliters per second, where x and y are positive real numbers. When both pumps run together, their combined rate is 8 milliliters per second. A 3-milliliter sample takes 1 second longer to dispense using pump B alone than using pump A alone. If x>y, which choice is the value of x?
