Struggles
1. Insecure about body: growing up I was always fat and big. I rember in 5/6th grade I weighed 150lbs which is a little less than what I weigh now. I use to wear hoodies and sweaters because I felt more comfortable with something covering my stomach and tits bro. I would even wear it during the summer when it was hot as heck
2. Eat for taste: I love eating and often times I eat because of the taste or simply for feeling good. Growing up I would eat a whole box of chips ahoy the family size or the Oreos because it tasted so good. I’d have a bowl and I’d place the cookies in there and then milk. That would be my cereal. Often times I wouldn’t even be hungry but since we had it I just wanted it becasue it tasted good. Even today whoever i go out to eat I always have room for dessert because my body craves taste instead of being full. I can be full for a bit but then I’ll get temptation for snacks and treats. Once I eat and let the sweets in, my mind and body can sometimes get hijacked like a crack addict and I just want more
3. Injury: I suffered two major injuries back to back which left my down and eating my feelings away. I’d tell myself I’ll get back to it once I recover. I had a grade 3 ac joint seperation which is basically tearing 3 ligaments that connect my collar bone to my shoulder & then 3 months later I tear my ACL. It was hard not to feel bad for myself because I couldn’t move or do things on my own. Even till this day I still look back and think man what if I wa snore cautious or did more preventative maintaince
4. Lazy asf: I’m disciplined but lazy asf. You see me in the gym getting after it but outside the gym I don’t want to do anything. I always want to sleep and maybe that’s becasue of the pressure I put on myself to get things done so I just get in my head and then do nothing. I often lay down and read or watch self development content or learn something on YouTube, which leads me To just consuming content and not getting anything done
Contrasting Wins
1. Being insecure made me commit to going to the gym and taking my health seriously. Being able to control how my muscles and physique looks is a beautiful feeling
2. I track my meals because if I don’t my food hunger will go crazy so being able to track and limit myself helps and I like seeing data and the numbers of what I’m eating
3. This gave me a new outlook and drive to really push myself and ask myself if this is what I wanted. This taught me that setbacks are only temporary if you keep fighting for what you want but you have to be mentally tough and keep having faith
4. I create a list and give myself at least 3 tasks to get done each day. If I get those 3 wins the day is considered a success. If not I’ll be all over the place
HOOKS
- I tore three ligaments in my shoulder bro and then three months later I tore my ACL But the physical injuries weren’t actually what f****d me up the most
- Growing up I used to pour a brand new family pack of Oreos into a bowl, add milk, and eat that s* like cereal And the craziest part was I wasn’t even hungry
- You probably think I’m disciplined because you see me constantly working in the gym But bro, I’m actually lazy as f****
