How's Your Sleep Been Lately?
Real question: Are you actually sleeping, or are you just lying in bed hoping sleep comes?
Because there's a difference.
Sleep is where transformation happens.
When you sleep, your body heals. Your hormones rebalance. Your nervous system resets. Your brain detoxifies. Your metabolism normalizes.
👉 And, you release fat...if the sleep is good quality and your nutrition is on point.
Without sleep, nothing else works.
So how's yours been?
Here's what actually helps (and why):
OFF DEVICES 1-2 HOURS BEFORE BED
Your phone and screens emit blue light. Blue light tells your brain: "Stay awake. It's daytime."
When you're scrolling in bed, your brain thinks it's noon. Your melatonin (sleep hormone) can't rise. Your cortisol (stress hormone) stays elevated.
Result: You lie there awake, wired, frustrated.
Solution: Put the phone down 1-2 hours before bed. Your melatonin can actually rise. Your nervous system can calm down.
DARK ROOM
Melatonin production requires darkness. Even a little light (from a phone charger, a clock, a streetlight) suppresses it.
Your body can't produce the hormone it needs to sleep if there's light.
Solution: Black out curtains, no nightlights, phone face down. Full darkness.
COOL ROOM
Your body temperature naturally drops when you sleep. If your room is warm, your body fights against cooling down.
Your core temp needs to drop 2-3 degrees for quality sleep. A room that's too warm prevents that.
Solution: 60-67°F is ideal. Cool room, warm blankets.
But here's the real question:
What's actually disrupting YOUR sleep?
✅ Can't fall asleep (racing thoughts, anxiety, wired feeling)
✅ Can't stay asleep (waking multiple times, restless)
✅ Wake up in the middle of the night and can't go back to sleep
✅ Sleep all night but wake up feeling completely unrefreshed
These are different problems with different solutions.
