Blessing Ball of Bliss
I'm hanging out with my ten-year-old granddaughter this weekend. As I shared stories about her younger years, I was reminded of the time her Dad (my son) came to live with me "until he found a new place to live."
It was March 1, 2020. A "bit" became six months, and it turned into an incredible opportunity for the three of us to bond. My granddaughter came every weekend, and we made the best of my one-bedroom condo. Luckily, I have a very comfortable couch, even for a 6' 4" tall dude.
One morning I shared my "Blessing Ball of Bliss" with my granddaughter.
Want to try it? Put your two hands together, and slowly move them closer and farther apart until you feel the pull of your energy vibrating between your hands. For me, it's a tingling feeling. What does that feel like for you?
Then you speak out loud into that space all the things that you're grateful for. These are the blessings in your life.
I started with "I'm grateful for you. Your papa. My comfortable bed. That I can see the lake from here."
All the things.
Then I asked her what she's grateful for: "I'm grateful for Nana's left eyeball."
I broke out laughing, and that made her laugh. Out of the mouths of babes ....
And last night, she asked me, "Why the 'left' eyeball?"
"Well, you were lying on my left side, and I guess that was the first thing you thought about."
OMG, we laughed so hard again last night.
I'd love for you to share how it feels when you try this, and sometimes it takes a bit of practice.
What are you grateful for right now?
P.S. Unlike those early years of waking up at 6 am sharp, the new preferred wake-up time is 9:30 am. Maybe 10 am ....
