👑 PAUSE BEFORE YOU REACT
Not every frustrating moment needs a reaction.
Sometimes a text sounds rude…
A schedule change feels inconsiderate…
Or something happens differently than you would have handled it.
And your first instinct might be:
“Seriously?! 😤”
We’ve all been there.
But before you respond, try giving yourself a moment.
Ask yourself:
“Do I know what they meant, or am I assuming?”
“Is this actually a problem, or just different from how I would have done it?”
“Will responding emotionally make this better or worse?”
You don’t have to agree with your co-parent.
You don’t even have to like their decision.
But if there’s an opportunity to assume good intent instead of immediately assuming the worst, sometimes that one little pause can prevent a whole lot of unnecessary conflict.
And remember:
Co-parenting isn’t about two people doing everything the same way.
It’s about finding a way to work together while keeping your child at the center.
👑 Today’s challenge:
The next time something frustrates you, wait 10 minutes before responding.
Take a breath. Read the message again.
Then ask:
“What response would I be proud of tomorrow?”
👇 Have you ever sent a response in the heat of the moment that you really wish you had waited to send?
