Have you ever started writing a scene and halfway through wondered, "Where am I actually going with this?"
It happens!
Sometimes we have a great idea for a scene, but we're not sure how it fits into the bigger story.
So, let me share something with you.
This is something I use when guiding writers through their manuscripts. 📚
Ask yourself three questions:
🌿 What happens?
🌿 What is happening internally?
🌿 What changes?
That last question is especially important. 💥
Remember a scene isn't just about what your character does.
It's also about what they're experiencing and how that moment moves the story forward.
You don't need to have every answer figured out before you start writing. ✍️
Sometimes you'll discover the answers AS you're writing! 🤩
Use these questions as a guide, not a set of rules.
That’s WHY it’s important to have an outline as more like guidelines.
👉 Are you working on a scene or chapter right now?
Which of these three questions would help you the most?
Tell me in the comments! 😊
