There was a ute on my side of the road. My usual reaction would've been instant! Loud, ugly swear words. Instead: "What the heck!" And I smiled.
That's when I knew stopping swearing had actually worked. Not because I'd gotten calmer. But because for a second there was a gap between what happened and what I did about it. A different word came out, because the old one wasn't there anymore.
Counting to ten never worked for me. Removing the option did. What's left in that gap is the Magic Pause.
This community is the structure that makes it stick: small pods, honest daily check-ins, and one goal - 21 days of showing up. Not 21 perfect days. A slip-up you own still counts. Stop posting, and nobody knows if you're still going and can help get you back on track.
