The 2015 Nepal earthquake triggered catastrophic flooding measured at around 1.3 million cubic feet per second. Now scale that by 600. That puts you at 800 million cubic feet per second, which is just one of dozens of flows that carved the Channeled Scablands of Eastern Washington during the Ice Age. Some of those individual floods reached 50 to 300 million cubic feet per second, and they happened repeatedly. The question isn't just about the physics of moving that much water. It's about survivability. Could anyone have witnessed flows of that magnitude and lived to tell about it? Maybe by anomaly, maybe in some sheltered high ground, but the aftermath alone would have reshaped entire landscapes in a matter of days. These weren't gradual processes. They were geologic catastrophes on a scale that challenges our ability to even visualize the forces at work.
