IPA's (Income Producing Activities)
Building a bookkeeping business—or any business—isn't about getting motivated once in a while. It's about showing up consistently, day after day. When you're in the building phase, your foot stays on the gas. Every email you send, every networking conversation, every social media post, every follow-up call, and every connection you make moves your business one step closer to your next client. (And yes... you can absolutely take the weekends off. Just don't lose your momentum.) Last month we ran the Bookkeeper's Growth Game, where the entire focus was on completing daily Income Producing Activities (IPAs) that actually move your business forward. No busy work. Just simple, consistent actions that create real results. Want the complete IPA list we used? Drop "LIST" in the comments and I'll send it your way!

🌟 **Top 5 Things I Would Do If I Were Starting My Bookkeeping Business Today!** 📚💼
If I were diving into the world of bookkeeping right now, here’s how I’d kick things off with a bang: 1. **Nail Down My Niche** 🎯 I'd focus on a specific industry—like e-commerce or startups—to tailor my services and stand out in a crowded market. Specialization makes for a powerful pitch! Remember: Just because you select a niche today doesn’t mean you can’t serve other types of clients - it help you to focus! 2. **Invest in the Right Tools** 🛠️ I’d get my hands on top-notch software like QuickBooks online. Automation is key to efficiency, and these tools can save me time while keeping everything organized! Want my recommendations for your ‘MUST HAVE’ software deck - message me 🤗 3. **Build a Strong Online Presence** 🌐 A professional website and engaging social media profiles would be my best friends! Sharing tips, insights, and client testimonials can attract potential customers and build trust. Don’t think your socials will instantly get you clients - they establish your authority! 4. **Network Like Crazy** 🤝 Start by looking into your local Chamber of Commerce! Attend local business events - get those cards out there! You never know who’ll you’ll meet! TIP: Be intentional with your time. If you’re going to an event set a goal (how many cards will you give out? How many will you get? Who do you want to meet?) Building relationships can lead to referrals and collaborations that boost your business! 5. **Keep Learning and Adapting** 📖 The bookkeeping landscape is always changing, so I’d commit to continuous education. Online courses, webinars, and industry news will keep my skills sharp and my services relevant. Let’s get this bookkeeping party started! 🎊 What would you add to this list? I did a letter to about 80 local churches back in June. I’ve had 4 reach out and 1 to sign. 2 reached out this week so they still have to take the info to the leadership but both look promising.
