In this chapter, you build the academic foundation for your study by synthesizing what is already known about your topic. Instead of simply summarizing sources, you organize and connect research to show patterns, gaps, debates, and dominant theories. The goal is to position your study clearly within the existing body of knowledge and demonstrate why your research is needed.
