Today in our session with coach @Andrzej Zieliński , we expanded our vocabulary and picked up some new idioms. Here they are! @Andrzej Zieliński: "to color outside the lines"= To act or think creatively, unconventionally, or outside established rules and boundaries. It means ignoring those visual borders to express yourself freely. @Evelyne Vincent: "Gaslighting" = A form of psychological manipulation where someone makes you doubt your own perceptions, memory, or sanity. @Evelyne Vincent recommended watching the movie about gaslighting that's actually called "Gaslight" (1944) starring Ingrid Bergman. @Natasha Ermakova: "To pull someone’s leg"= to make someone believe something that is not true as a joke: to trick or lie to someone in a playful way. @Nza Kurdi : "[Something] + slipped my mind"= It means that a specific fact, obligation, name, or task slid out of your memory (was forgotten) accidentally or temporarily. Don't confuse "slip "with the word "sleep". @Andrzej Zieliński: "to have something in the hopper"= have a project, plan, task, or idea currently being processed, prepared, or lined up for future action. @Eva Bosakova: "Shady character"= is someone who acts, looks, or behaves in a way that makes you feel suspicious, unsafe, or distrustful. @Eva Bosakova : "to hold your horses" = to slow down, wait a moment, or be patient before making a decision, rushing ahead, or taking immediate action. @Nza Kurdi :"to be on the fence" = to be undecided, neutral, or unable to choose between two or more options, opinions, or sides of an argument. It is never too late to learn! See you next week!
