In your opinion, should the score be made public ?
Hey all! 👋 Simple question: should the score be made public? Yes or no?

@Mini Apps Competition This response is baffling: obfuscating the results only brings the veracity of the judging process into question. I'm not saying this was your intention, but conciously withholding this information suggests that you are aware of its controversial nature. You provided participants with an incredibly comprehensive scoring system. Why not use it? I am putting this very politely: some of the winners had significant weaknesses in various scoring categories. In a field of 60+ entrants it's hard to imagine that there were no stronger, more balanced entries. If the competition had merely stated that winners were selected solely based on the judges' individual discretion I think there wouldn't be so much frustration-- we would understand that it was simply the qualitative opinion of a handful of panelists. The lack of openess betrays the spirit of the competition and scoring system that you yourselves placed so much emphasis. Dozens of people have poured hundreds of hours into this endeavour. To casually handwave participants' complaints is dismissive and disappointing. Please reconsider your decision to withhold scoring.
🏆 MINI APPS COMPETITION: CYCLE #1 WINNERS!!
Cycle 1 is officially in the books. 62 Mini Apps submitted, all of them scored by the Nimiq Community Council, and the results are final. 🥁 Drumroll please… 🥇 1st place: Nimiq Space by @Harley NSpace An open multiplayer world where wallet-signed players can see who is online right now, paint a persistent 500x500 collaborative floor, and build rooms that sync live for everyone in them. 🥈 2nd place: NimJump by @Emre Alt An arcade game built around a minimal client-authority architecture, where the server replays every run itself instead of trusting the score the client reports. 🥉 3rd place: NimQuest by @mystiquemide A learn-and-prove Mini App with server-graded quizzes, where a completion only counts once you sign a one-time message in Nimiq Pay. Congratulations to all three. Winners will be contacted directly to arrange payout. To everyone else who submitted, thank you. You shipped something real in four weeks and set the bar high for future cycles. Every app you built is yours under the MIT License, so keep going with it. 🗓️ Cycle 2 opens August 24. Same $17,000 USDT prize pool, four Sip & Ship calls, submissions close September 18 at 23:59 UTC. If your app did not place this time, you can refine it and submit it again. I think it’s important that you publish scoring. There’s no point in having such a detailed scoring breakdown if there’s no evidence it is actually being used. Clearly a significant number of competitors were expecting real scoring for their work; clearly a number of competitors are surprised by this cycle’s winners. It would go a long way to improving the quality of both current and future mini apps if we had something tangible to work off of. I don’t quite understand the secrecy either; there should be nothing to lose by doing this! Without it, it feel like you guys merely selected based on vibes rather than quantitative review.

NIM Hunt
NIM Hunt is a geofaucet-style and prizedraw mini-app for NimPay. Users can create "spots" for other users to find and claim Nimiq rewards. Spots can include optional rules and formats so creators can make simple public drops, password-gated rewards, timed location challenges, or Prizedraw-style entries. Roadmap Most of the coding is complete. Right now the only major hurdle is testing so no one loses any Nimiq. Expect a release in around 10 days. You can follow me on X @NIM_Hunt. Keep an eye on X as I'll post some spots to mark our release!
