A rainy afternoon of sneaky sketching ☔✏️
Hi lovely members 👋 Last weekend it was pouring in Manchester, so we ducked into Mackie Mayor, a big old market hall turned food hall. We got a corner table, ordered some nice food and a glass or two of wine, and spent a couple of hours drawing the people around us. 🍷 The best bit? My husband joined in. [ He won't let me show his drawings, though, sadly. Even though they were great ❤️ ] He has no background in drawing, but he has his own sketchbook now, and this is the second time we've gone off to a city together just to draw what we see. We both loved it. - - - - - ✏️ 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲-𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘀 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 People don't stay still, so you can't fuss over anything. You catch a pair of glasses or the curve of a shoulder, and move on. Nobody expects a finished portrait. My pages are a few little faces and one couple deep in conversation, with "Faces of Mackie Mayor" written underneath, and that page now holds the whole afternoon for me. 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘢 𝘤𝘢𝘮𝘦 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘕𝘪𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘑𝘢𝘪𝘯'𝘴 𝘣𝘰𝘰𝘬 𝘔𝘢𝘬𝘦 (𝘚𝘯𝘦𝘢𝘬𝘺) 𝘈𝘳𝘵, 𝘸𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘩 𝘪𝘴 𝘧𝘶𝘭𝘭 𝘰𝘧 𝘨𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘭𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘺𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘭𝘪𝘱 𝘥𝘳𝘢𝘸𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘰𝘳𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘳𝘺 𝘥𝘢𝘺𝘴 𝘰𝘶𝘵. - - - - - ☕ 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝘀𝗸𝗲𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗮𝘆 A café, a library, a train station or a park bench all work. Find a seat with a view, take one pen and a small sketchbook, order something nice and settle in. Let people walk out of your drawings and just start the next one. 💛 Bring a partner or friend along if you like. They don't need to be "arty". Or go on your own and enjoy the quiet company of your sketchbook. - - - - - 💬 Where would you go for your sketching day, and who would you bring along, if anyone? Have you tried this before? Would you like to try it? Tell me in the comments, and share a page if you've tried it. I'd love to see it. 👇

This sounds and looks absolutely amazing and what a wonderful idea! Even nicer that your husband and you can share such an experience! It really looks and sounds like an afternoon of bliss 🥰 I definitely want to have a go and have never thought of asking my partner for an outing like this!

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗛𝗮𝗻𝗱 ✨ 𝗧𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆'𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗽𝘁: 𝗱𝗿𝗮𝘄 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱. Whichever hand you never use. Anything will do, the teapot, the cat, your own foot. It will come out wobbly and a bit mad, and that is entirely the point. Nobody is good with their wrong hand, so there's nothing to be bad at today 💛 ✨ 𝗙𝗲𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗯𝗶𝘁 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁? Do it again with your eyes closed as well, then compare the two. 👉 Also in the classroom here: ❤️ 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 👇 The whole page, a tiny piece of it, or just type "done" if you're not ready to show it ❤️ ❤️ All count. Whenever you get to it, morning, teatime or midnight.

@Mike VanLeuken this is beautiful! I love the shading and perspective and all that with the less dominant hand!

𝗔 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗬𝗼𝘂'𝗱 𝗟𝗶𝗸𝗲 ✨ 𝗧𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆'𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗽𝘁: 𝗱𝗿𝗮𝘄 𝗮 𝗯𝗶𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗮 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂'𝗱 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲. Not this morning. A morning you'd like. 😍 The mug on a quiet table, the window with nothing to rush off to, the dog at the end of the bed, the sea if that's what you're after. This week we're back to the life you want, which is where all this started 💛 ✨ 𝗙𝗲𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗯𝗶𝘁 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁? Put yourself in it somewhere, even if you're just a shape in a chair. 👉 Also in the classroom here: ❤️ 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 👇 The whole page, a tiny piece of it, or just type "done" if you're not ready to show it ❤️ ❤️ All count. 🍁 NEW in the Printables Vault: Tiny Birds & Berries Loaded Tag 🔥
I've had SO much fun making this one, and I can't wait for you to try it! 𝗦𝗢 𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧'𝗦 𝗔 𝗟𝗢𝗔𝗗𝗘𝗗 𝗧𝗔𝗚? It's a tag "loaded" with lots of little elements: 🍁a pocket, 🍁smaller tags, 🍁journaling cards, 🍁quote strips, 🍁ticket pieces 🍁and fussy-cut birds, squirrels and dormice, all tucked in together. 👉 𝙄𝙩'𝙨 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙖 𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙮 𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙪𝙧𝙚 𝙥𝙤𝙘𝙠𝙚𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙘𝙖𝙣 𝙨𝙡𝙞𝙥 𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙤 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙟𝙪𝙣𝙠 𝙟𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝙤𝙧 𝙨𝙠𝙚𝙩𝙘𝙝𝙗𝙤𝙤𝙠. Everything comes as print-at-home sheets, and you can print them at whatever size you like. ❤️ I made a teeny one for my micro sketchbook [see photo] and it's just adorable. ----- ----- ----- ----- 𝗙𝗜𝗡𝗗 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗙𝗜𝗟𝗘𝗦 𝗜𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗣𝗥𝗜𝗡𝗧𝗔𝗕𝗟𝗘 𝗩𝗔𝗨𝗟𝗧 𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗘 👉 Download your files here. ----- ----- ----- ----- 𝗛𝗢𝗪 𝗧𝗢 𝗠𝗔𝗞𝗘 𝗜𝗧 I've made a video showing you how to put it all together 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝗹𝗼𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗮𝗴 𝘀𝗲𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗶𝘂𝗺 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗩𝗮𝘂𝗹𝘁 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗻𝗼𝘄. And this is only the beginning. I've got so many ideas brewing for Halloween and Christmas. The vault and the premium level are going to keep filling up with more and more goodies, including things that are just for premium members. So if you've been thinking about it, 𝗻𝗼𝘄'𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗷𝗼𝗶𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗶𝘂𝗺 𝘄𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗲 ($𝟱 𝗮 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵, 𝗼𝗿 $𝟯𝟬 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿), which stays locked in for you for as long as you stay. [Even when the price goes up for new joiners 💛] 👉 Upgrade or check out the plans here: https://www.skool.com/draw/plans I'd love to see your loaded tags when you make them, so please share them in the community!

𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗟𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗱 ✨ 𝗧𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆'𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗽𝘁: 𝗱𝗿𝗮𝘄 𝗮 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗱, 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝘆. 𝗡𝗼 𝗽𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗼. A kitchen, a garden, a bit of a beach, your nan's front room, the shop on the corner where you grew up. Don't look anything up. Memory leaves out all the hard bits and keeps what mattered, which is why drawing from it is so much kinder than drawing from a photo. ✨ 𝗙𝗲𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗯𝗶𝘁 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁? Write one line next to it about what you could hear or smell there. 👉 Also in the classroom here: ❤️ 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 👇 The whole page, a tiny piece of it, or just type "done" if you're not ready to show it ❤️ ❤️ All count.
