OOTD - Wednesday 2 September
Today is the day I may be made redundant, we have not been able to find a new role within the current business which does not bode well, and as I just finished the call I am to be made redundant from Friday 4 September But as I mentioned previously I have my resume and CV out in a few places, plus I am constantly assured but others around me that I am eminently employable and the Nova are shooting themselves in the foot by letting me go. As an aside this will be the first time since 02 August 1993 that I have not had a job to go to the next day. When I left the navy I walked directly into my next role the following day, and when left that role I walked into this one the next day. Might be a good time for that Japanese holiday we have coming up. Today’s outfit consists of; Stanton Collapsible Fedora M.J. I never like the word redundant. If anything this could push you in a completely different direction. You look great. 👍
Flu bugs, sobriety, new tires, and polo shirts
It's been a really long time since I've shared any details about my life here, which is due partly to fear of internet publicity and the unknowns of AI, and mostly to sheer laziness. Trucking is slow right now. Since spring I've been working part time for a feedlot, taking care of cattle, fixing equipment and maintaining the yard. We are currently in the corn silage chopping season, which is quite busy. It is a custom over there to have several beers at the end of the workday, which I got a bit tangled up in. I made the decision to quit drinking absolutely and as of now, I have one week of ridin' the wagon. Zero regret, depression, anxiety, or brain fog -- this is the best I've felt in a long time. But no good feeling lasts forever, and last week the stomach flu showed up to remind us all just how delicate health can be. I am fairly certain my sister and brother in law who are on furlough from their mission work in South America brought it with them 🙄 Early this morning, it was my turn for the violent evacuations of fluid. Survived. Since I didn't go to the feedlot today, we got out to run some errands. I had new tires put on the van while we shopped Walmart. I found cotton polos on sale for 11.98, and above-the-knee shorts for $3. Unfortunately, most of my sizes were sold out, but I did get to pick up a burgundy and a navy polo. When we got home, I tried it on with a navy blazer and burgundy tassel loafers for a classic Ivy League look. The belt doesn't match well. I was wearing my tan/orangey colored penny loafers before swapping them out for the tassels -- just for the sake of these photos. This is the first polo shirt I've owned since I was a young teenager. Thought I would share it with you men. Hope you all are doing well.

Christian Louboutin makes shoes for men.
I found these (didn’t buy them) and I wasn’t expecting to see these. I bought a pair of Christian Louboutin shoes for my wife last Christmas. I didn’t know, until today, they made shoes for men as well, including the characteristic red soles.

Christian Louboutin does make shoes and you can get a red welt to go over the red sole to preserve it.

Today is the first official first day of Spring in Australia. My daughter chose the suit, tie and watch to match my shirt I was getting ready last night. I think without even realizing she stumbled into this Spring Styled outfit. I did grab my Panama Style hat as it is very sunny, and no coat today as I dropped my daughter to school on my way out the door to the weekly chiropractor appointment. I stopped by a local park to get the Fashion Shots, just made sure not to get the playground equipment in the shot as they may look a little on the dodgy side 🤭 I have also added a nice texture shot of the Twill pattern in the linen trousers against the textured pattern of the OTAA socks Todays outfit consists of; Stanton Collapsible Panama Style Hat M.J. Although it has been over 3 decades since I went to school to be a designer, my foundational knowledge and skills are hopefully timeless.
