On Saturday, We Bake
If you missed @Henry Hunter’s baking presentation at the Unplug and Play summit, check out the Recipe Pantry for his Kids Can Bake series. Every Saturday, in his community, he hosts a bake a long. During the week we learn about the bake, including history and technique. This week, we’re making Banana Blueberry scones. Supposed to be easy until someone (ok it was me!) accidentally added Worcestershire sauce instead of vanilla. Oops! Time to start again. Here’s the recipe if you’d like to try it: https://recipepantry.app/recipes/restaurant-style-banana-blueberry-scones

@Mary Nunaley You better believe it. It was melting so badly, I left it in the fridge for half an hour as 15 mins was not cutting it. The dough was way too soft. I am glad I did and I am sure this helped to give it the layers in between. 🤗❤️🪲

@Mary Nunaley Thank-you! I just followed by intuition and did that you try it the next time as well. Yes, it definitely did and I was very happy and surprised by it.
Who's on our 30 Day Leaderboard
Question for you - does the community leaderboard motivate you, annoy you, or you didn't even know there was such a thing? Skool, for better or worse, includes a leaderboard that shows member activity over 7 days, 30 days. and the lifetime of the community. I'm working on some new levels and rewards for the community and would love to hear your thoughts. Whether you love leaderboards or not, I'm excited to have so many active members and want to recognize our Connected Through Play Top 10 for the past 30 days. 🥇 @Andrew Brooks coming in at #1 this month AND holding strong at #5 all time. @Andrew Brooks You are computer savvy and why do you need one. Is it to scan the scam artists or what? 🤔

On Saturday We Bake - Sunday Edition
Most Saturday’s you’ll find me over in @Henry Hunter’s community where he hosts a Saturday bake along. What we will be baking is posted early each week along with how-to’s and common questions. Then, on Saturday morning, bakers from around the world join together to bake. This week, the community was baking Banh Mi, but not me. I opted for a quick bake and made Blackberry scones. The recipe is in the Recipe Pantry or visit #Bread as Science with Chef Henry for ideas to bake with your kids and a link to the free recipe pantry. If bread isn’t your thing, @Elliott Robertson shared some creative ideas in his presentation on ways to make kitchen time a fun family time by setting aside one night a week as “date night” and experimenting with your food. You can get more ideas here #Playing in the Kitchen with Elliott

We Made the Front Page
For there are so many events happening each week in hundreds of Skool communities across the platform and it’s hard to keep up with everything. About a year ago, my new friend and community member @Heather Wilson created Skool Events Daily to solve that challenge. This week, we made the cover. If you’re looking for other events, check it out and if you’re a community owner like @Auli Takala, @Chanie Twersky, @Celia Kibler, and @Tosca Fasso you may want to consider joining the community. From the Editor: The latest Skool Events Daily Weekly Bulletin is out! 🎉 This week’s edition is packed with amazing events and opportunities to connect, learn and grow, as always. ✨ Editor's Picks: Play, Purpose & Connection — featuring events from the summit being held in Connected Through Play, including: 🎤 When Dad Has Nothing Left 🤖 Play It Again, Claude! 🔬 Simple Science in the Kitchen and more family-focused sessions designed to bring people together. We also have: 🌟 Partner Spotlight featuring Justin Yip and his work helping entrepreneurs build aligned businesses. 💡 Experts Corner — Why Events Are The Heartbeat Of A Community — sharing why connection and community matter. 🎨 Unplug & Play — a full week of free family summit sessions covering creativity, cooking, technology, experts and more. On Saturday We Bake
I’m writing this a little after 5:00 am on Saturday morning. The house is quiet, the tea is brewing, and while we are in different locales, I know @Sandy Chong and I are lining up ingredients and getting ready to bake. Today, @Henry Hunter has chosen Monkey Bread for our bake. I’m going classic sweet but he’s also provided four savory options. Have you ever had monkey bread? I used to make it for the kids- simple fast- yummy. A couple cans of biscuit dough, sugar, cinnamon, gooey yumminess. Today, I learn how to make it from scratch. The recipe looks pretty easy and is ideal for kids helping in the kitchen. I’m using this recipe: https://recipepantry.app/recipes/monkey-bread If you get adventurous and try it come on and share your results here. If you’re a curious baker, Henry is doing a recorded recipe session that you can use at home and then on Wednesday August 19, he’s doing a live session. Check the calendar for the time. Image from Pampered Chef. I can’t find my Bundt pan so I may use a cast iron skillet or loaf pan. Have you ever had monkey bread?
