Nice! You got me with the title.
People who work with AI are earning a bad reputation
And for a good reason. [ROAST ANOTHER AI RANT] I got a "community expert" approaching me saying that he would help me scale my community and wanting to disclose his services. I said I was interested in seeing what he offered. He than sent me a PDF diagnosis of my group. It was very very bad. It sugested implementing stuff that I already do very well in a creative way and gave very generic and bland ideas to replace them, like the leaderboard level names, for example. The guy most problably just ran the agent and didn't take a minute to look at my group himself. And I just got to know that Skool and social media are flooding with those consultants. That just creates a reputation that everything that has AI on it is managed by a lazy person or scammer behind it. Now people accuse canva designs of being AI. Scriped videos as being AI. CGI of being AI. Even basic photoshop edits are now AI slop. And it comes with a repulse because the people behind it are seen as lazy like those consultants no matter what they are delivering. Since we're managing communities we have the unique opportunity to break that pattern, because people can connect with us on a level that they can't on modern social media. But the first impression is still very important. Unfortunatelly, if you're using AI for your group images without showing the person behind it, no matter how cool it looks and how much real effort you put behind it, some people will just assume you're a lazy person who uses AI to deliver everything.

@Paulo Costa, The Roaster agreed! And those that are trying to make money quick off of you don't care or have the time to build it out properly. They simply move on to someone else they think they can get.

@Mimi Ramsey agreed!
Do you engage with big groups?
[ROAST MY LESSON] Speaking of organic traffic, being active on big groups is a great way to grow here and I'm talking groups with thousands of people. Here are some of my opinions on how to engage on each of them. 👉 For those who own a community: - Skoolers: it's the best one to engage if you're a marketing/business/community building expert. Just go on the new comments filter and start helping people who are asking for help. You can get busy most of the day with it and there is no better way for me to organically get high quality members than doing that. People are grateful because I solve their problems, check me out and come with an initial trust on me that makes them more likely to become a paid member. - Classifieds: this is the best self promotion place on skool, and what inspired me mostly to build this group. @Shannon Boyer and @Mona Weathers gave me valuable feedback there when I was just figuring things out and it got me my very first engaged members and also showed me to some key people who helped me a lot. I wrote a whole article on how you can use it here. - Skool First 100: @Lidia Axe has been actively helping me get more members by giving me the opportunity to talk on her events and also speaking highly of my group, and that's why she is the current referral contest winner. She is an experienced online business expert and I'm learning a lot with her and even paid to get some guidance on paid traffic. - Synthetizer is among the best big groups to network with new people. It's very highly engaged, with very high quality members. I got a comment pinned there yesterday that got me to start a conversation with several skoolers. And the posts that I make there actually get a lot of attention. Their classroom content is really good too.

How are you uising AI for image and video assets?
And how well received are your posts? I'm personally not a fan of AI being used to simulate reality, like AI avatars sitting on a desk talking to a camera. I almost always know AI is being used, so if I'm going to use it, I do outlandish stuff like dragons, tv parodies and nerd stuff. There is no uncany valley on a cartoon dragon hosting a talk show. So I create image assets and @Rb Rathore helps creating animations for them. Some really cool stuff came out of it, like this post. But I do notice that once the novelty of this format runs out, people still prefer more personal content and a real conection to me. So I'm being moderate on the AI assets and using them for special ocasions. What about you? How are you using AI assets on your work?

Infographics work well for me when I need to get complex information across in an easy to follow format. Just need to make sure it doesn't start going down the rabbit hole and generating all kinds of strange things the longer the session goes.
