Hey everyone! I'm Jonathan, 41, and excited to be part of the Built Different community! I'm ready to make this next chapter of my life all about becoming healthier, stronger, and more disciplined. I'm not looking at 41 as a limitation, l'm looking at it as motivation. I'm here to learn, stay consistent, and become the best version of myself. Let's get BUILT DIFFERENT!💪🏾

@Jonathan Colon welcome. Great group to join. BD and @Keith Hanenian | Built Different™ work outs and life style has made a significant impact on my life and fitness. Have a great workout week.
Protein
I wanted to ask our community here where you are finding high protein (preferably meat) items for a CHEAP price? Thank you!

@Russell Bauer if you have an Aldi’s, their red meat is very reasonable compared to other markets. Chicken is always priced well. Grass fed beef and range free chicken. I find a huge variety there.
New here
Hi all, I'm 51 and in good health, but I don't want to lose it. Watching my parents suffer after years on the Standard American Diet pushed me to go carnivore six years ago. I've adjusted it some since then, but I still avoid any ultra- or highly-processed "food", especially refined sugar and high-fructose corn syrup. That said, I know I need to focus on muscle growth and maintain that muscle for as long as I can to ensure the best life possible ahead.

@Clay Angelly welcome to the group. Looking forward to interacting with you. Good bunch of guys here that won’t steer you wrong.
Let's talk about creatine.
Because I see this question coming up constantly in the community and I want to give you a straight answer. Creatine is one of the most well-researched supplements on the planet. The science on it is not ambiguous. It supports strength, power output, muscle recovery, and, something a lot of men over 40 don't realise, cognitive function. Brain health. That alone makes it worth a conversation. For men in this community, I think it's worth considering. Not because it's a magic pill. Because it's one of the few supplements that actually has decades of research behind it and a clear mechanism for how it works. Here's what I'll tell you though. Creatine does not work in a vacuum. If your diet is garbage, if you're not training consistently, if you're sleeping four hours a night, creatine is not going to save any of that. It works in the context of a solid foundation. Five grams a day. Consistent. That's it. No loading phase needed. No complicated timing. Just take it daily and let it do its job over time. And as always, quality matters. Don't go cheap on this. Know what's in what you're putting in your body. Are you currently taking creatine, and have you noticed a difference since starting it? Drop it below. 👇

I use it and notice a difference in my recovery for sure. First thing 5 g in the morning. Part of my routine
Let me ask you something most men won't admit out loud.
How much is alcohol actually costing you? Not in dollars. In results. I see it constantly. Men in this community training hard, eating reasonably well, doing everything right , and then wondering why the scale isn't moving, why recovery feels off, why sleep isn't restoring them. A lot of the time the answer is in the glass. Alcohol after 40 hits differently. It disrupts your sleep architecture, you might be in bed eight hours and still waking up unrecovered. It spikes inflammation, which is already elevated as we age. It tanks testosterone. It slows metabolism. And it makes every single nutritional decision harder the next day. I'm not here to tell you never to enjoy yourself. That's not the Built Different message. But I am telling you to be honest with yourself about what it's actually doing to your results. I cut it out. Not because someone told me to, because I did the experiment myself and the difference in my recovery, my sleep, my energy, and my body composition was not subtle. That's the data. What you do with it is your choice. Be honest with me, how often are you drinking, and do you think it's affecting your progress more than you're willing to admit? Drop it below. No judgment in here. Just honesty. 👇

Sober for 27 years. Don’t even take wine at the Eucharist. It works for me. My former life in public safety, seemed to go hand in hand for many of us in that field. I don’t miss it at all.
