Mindful Monday ~ What do you Need???
When You’re Unsure What You Need 🌿 Have you ever found yourself feeling off, restless, or completely overwhelmed, but when you stop to ask yourself “What do I actually need right now?”... your mind just goes blank? If so, take a slow, deep breath. You are not broken, and you aren’t doing healing wrong. It is completely normal to feel stuck when you can't immediately put a name to what you need. So often, we try to solve our feelings like a puzzle. We analyze, we overthink, and we try to figure out the exact right action to take. But true clarity doesn't usually come from mental analysis—it emerges when our nervous system feels regulated and safe. Here is what we often forget: confusion is often the gentle pause that precedes clarity in the body. When your system is overwhelmed, confusion is simply a sign that your body needs a moment to settle before it can show you the next step. 🌱 This Week’s Restoration Practice Instead of trying to figure everything out right now, let’s make space for a simpler, gentler approach. This week, abandon the need to analyze. Simply give yourself permission to notice what you instinctively move toward or away from. - Notice if your body leans into a quiet room, a warm cup of tea, or stepping outside into fresh air. - Notice if your body naturally pulls away from a screen, a loud space, or a busy schedule. You don't have to explain it or justify it. Your body speaks in quiet whispers long before your mind finds the words. Trust those small cues, take it one gentle moment at a time, and let your nervous system lead the way. 💬 A question for you today: When you feel unsure of what you need, what is one small thing your body usually instinctively craves—quiet, movement, warmth, or something else entirely? Share below—I’d love to hear!

I move away from loud noises if the tv is too loud or kids screaming, tv, everyone talking at once etc. I crave quiet or to just to sit in the grass and listen to nature.
Wellness Wednesday ~ Gratitude
Practice Gratitude for Your Body Healing isn't always a straight line. Almost daily I speak with someone who is focusing on difficult symptoms and need to explain that the body heals like a roller coaster! When symptoms persist, it's easy to feel frustrated or disconnected from your body. But your body has been working to protect you your entire life. It needs time to adjust to changes, and the more involved your symptoms, the longer the body will take to make those adjustments. Many of the things we call "symptoms" are actually adaptations—your body's attempt to keep you safe, help you survive, and maintain balance in the face of stress, illness, trauma, or overwhelm. Instead of asking:"What's wrong with me?" or "Why is this still happening to me?" Try asking:"What is my body trying to communicate?" That simple shift moves us from fighting our body to partnering with it. Your body is not the obstacle to healing, but rather it is part of the healing process. Today, pause for a moment and offer your body gratitude for all it has carried you through. Sometimes the smallest shift in perspective creates the biggest shift in healing. 👇 Share one thing you're grateful your body has done for you recently.

I’m grateful I’m still able to walk with recently falling on my knee that I had surgery on without too much pain. I have osteoarthritis and had been walking for a year with bone rubbing on bone where my knee cap was shifted and had a torn meniscus. I’m grateful I am able to walk and swim with my kids at the campground. ⛺️

My new doctor recommended EMDR therapy for me and in person therapy. What’s your advice on that? I don’t know much about it. He said it was to help with a lot of different trauma that I’ve been through. Also I missed one morning on drinking my quart of water and I could definitely feel it.
Food Friday ~ Masticate Slowly! 😉
Ok, I'm running late today! I love big words! 😉 Masticate is a big word for chewing! Chew Your Food Slowly One of the simplest health habits is also one of the most overlooked: slowing down long enough to chew your food. Digestion begins in the mouth. When you chew thoroughly, you mechanically break food into smaller particles while mixing it with digestive enzymes found in saliva. This gives your digestive system a head start and can make the entire process more efficient. Benefits of chewing your food well include: ✅ Improved nutrient absorption ✅ Less bloating and digestive discomfort ✅ Better communication between the gut and brain ✅ Increased feelings of fullness and satisfaction ✅ Reduced likelihood of overeating Many people eat while driving, working, scrolling, or rushing through the day. When we're stressed and eating quickly, the body often stays in a "go, go, go" state instead of shifting into the "rest and digest" state that supports healthy digestion. A simple practice this week: Before swallowing, try chewing each bite a few extra times than you normally would. Put your fork down between bites and notice the taste, texture, and experience of eating. Small habits practiced consistently often create the biggest changes. Do you tend to eat quickly or slowly? What helps you slow down and enjoy your meals?

I so choked on my mother-in-law’s chicken n dumplings last night after work. 🤦‍♀️ first time I’ve ever choked in my life. I’m so grateful my husband was right outside the camper.

I have been drinking a quart of water first thing every morning for the past almost two weeks and can tell a difference. I’ve also started drinking a 16 oz water before bed and one when I get up in the middle of the night.

@Christie Berry thank you so much! I never thought of it that way. I was only thinking to try to help stay hydrated. You’re the best!
