Winter champs
Day 1 Heats 100free: 1.03 added a second, but my underwaters improved and my coach said I seem more concentrated. I figured I need to work on my endurance but this a a qualifying time for SA sc nationals, so decently happy 50bk: 34 stayed on my time, I think I added a 0.3 or something, this felt pretty good. My start felt amazing but I did miss count my strokes and glided a bit too much for bothe the turn and finish (weirdly enough all the girls in my club had the exact same problem and even some of the other clubs did) 100IM: 1.17 stayed on my time, well I took off splits but it was like 0.2. There wasn't any oxygen in the pool but otherwise it felt OK, not necessarily strong and again I fumbled a bit on the backstroke finish Finals: 100 free 1.03 swam splits faster and came 2nd by 0.4 my underwaters felt better and you could breath more as they finally opened the doors. I slowed down q bit on my last lap and chocked on water twice but all in all I'm happy with the result 50bk : added splits and came 3rd My underwaters felt once gain better and the turn was better too the finish not so much. I realize my arms could have more power and my kick too. 100 IM same time, kept my head down and went for it. My coach says he want to turn me into an IM swimmer, he says my breaststroke improved and I'm gliding better. I counted my strokes and I did 9. The gala before I did 11. Yes happy happy Day 2 Heats 200 free 2.27 added 5 seconds, there was so much stream and my lungs collapsed on the first 50, I made it to finals ranked 4th, my underwaters were ok but far from the best 100 bk 1.15 dropped a second but my coach was mad at me because I went slow. The steam was actually so bad I cooked on water twice and coughed but water as I got out. My turns were better than the day before 50 free 28.13 added 0.14 happy with my time bit disnt kick enough the last 15 meters I think I took 3 breaths and I had a okish reaction time Finals 200 free 2.23 took off 4 of the 5 seconds that I added and came 3rd, it oxygen was a bit better and my turns flet ok, and once again my couch and I agreed that I need endurance training
My last gala before winter champs
Went pretty well and I'm happy with the results considering I was sick at this gala 100 back 1.16 took off 1 and a half second It felt pretty strong but the last 25 wasn't great, so I'm working on that 100IM 1.17 took 2 seconds off, focused especially on technique and had the best breaststroke I've ever felt at a gala 50 fly 34.3 took off a second too, focused on technique instead of speed on this one, and focusing on that actually helped my speed far more than the last time I swam the 50 fly 50 free 29.10 last event of the day and all my energy was drained and at this point I was functioning off panados, so I added 1.5 secs. I didnt have the best start, and I breathed way too many times than necessary. But it's ok, I'm not upset about it. And know I can learn from the whole gala and what to focus on.

โ™ฃ๏ธ Who's thinking about changing clubs for next year??
I'm curious please vote below. Depending on the votes, Yul and I might be running a special training for swimmers and parents who want to switch to another club. We have been part of many successful transitions and we know what to do (and what to avoid!!) to find a great team & coach. Vote HERE ๐Ÿ‘‡

Thinking about it but I'm also happy where I am ๐Ÿ’

@David Karasek Well I'm happy with my friends and coach and even the training. But the political side to it is very hectic (with some of the parents, a few swimmers and I feel even the other coach, even though I've moved out of her class) So I'm going to see how things go during the year and if some things get sorted out. And also mainly because of how I get my competition within the club. I'm almost always the only girl with a lot stuff, which I don't really mind because training with the boys does kinda force me to 'toughen up' but there are other clubs where I can have a more equal competition and all.
First meet of the season
Well nothing really went as planned but I'm happy Im swam and got certain times on board. 50 back: 34.44 took off half a sec, this race felt powerful and underwaters went better than expected. My arms and legs were flying and it felt like the strongest backstroke I've had in a while. 200IM: 2.59, stayed on my time, not my best time But I wanted to swim this as early as possible because for us, here in SA, you need a 200IM time or else you can't swim regionals/ levels. My 50 fly felt amazing but my chest got really wheezy the last 5m because I'm still a bit sick, because of the water pressure on my back I had a few coughing fits during the back and was fully out of oxygen for the breast, and freestyle I pushed through but couldn't sprint it. I'm just happy the time is down for the season and don't need to worry about it in the long run. 50 free: 30.01 added 2 seconds. My chest was still wheezing, I slipped on the block and had a deep dive, I choked right before the turn and burst into coughs right as I came out. I also lost concentration before the race because someone said good luck, and I turned my head to say thanks. I can take the lesson that I don't need to say thank you or be friendly before a race because it's not gonna kill someone if you don't answer๐Ÿ˜…, and that it's important to stay in your zone. I'm not even disappointed with the times because I knew it was all my chest could handle that day. I spoke to my coach about it and we chatted about how the races felt in general. He said he didn't care about the times as long as I tried as hard as I could and my IM time is down. I'm just a little disappointed about how the circumstances were and that I know for myself I could have swum so much better. I'm taking a learning from this; it doesn't matter the times, I enjoyed the races and the feeling of racing again after season end break.

For the whole school thing: i go to training to AVOID studying, I absolutely hate studying and swimming is my favorite excuse not to sit still at a desk and learn. It also helps me concentrate after the workout so studing becomes easier

- When friends ask if I want to go out I will politely decline - When I pick up my phone I will do breathing exercises and think if I really need it, or put my phone down a draw instead - When I see sweets at my house or at school I will take a few sips of water a turn away - Visualize before I go to sleep
