This isn’t exactly to discourage working hard, but to rather not get attached to every little thing that passes you by. Luke 12:13-21 is a prime example of such, where the rich fool dedicated his life to purely riches, only to die soon after. Not by mere misfortune, but by God himself. It doesn’t have to be god himself that causes this, but the message is certain. Do work hard, but don’t place your entire life in its hands.🙏

I'm being baptized in the Eastern Orthodox Church Saturday October 24th. I've been a Catechumen for almost a year. I've picked St. Gabriel the Archangel as my Patron Saint. I'm so excited yet so scared. I have so much to confess to my priest that is so shameful. Pray that I have the strength to resist sin and to confess my sins without shame and condemnation. My girlfriend and I have been struggling with lust also, that's not good and I'm asking for prayers in that regard.

As I arrived home from school, I felt compelled to humble myself before God and bask in His presence, no pleas, no lamentations, no brain dumps — just praise, gratitude, and silence — absolute silence. During my time with God, I felt Him calling me to write this message and tell someone out there this message: God is proud of you for choosing Him. Genesis 1:27-28 backs this up by telling us that, after God made us in His own image, He desired us to be “fruitful and multiply” and to “reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground.” Additionally, in John 15:5, Jesus says that “Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit”, both instances implying that God cares for His children and takes great joy when we run to Him for our sustenance. I know that there are many people out there who are like, “What makes this message important? Don’t Christians already know this?”, and I would like to say that — while a lot of people know this— not a lot of people are actually acting like it. They feel overlooked, like nothing they do even matters, and everything else is just trampling all over them. Although you might seem overlooked by people, you’re never overlooked by God. For it says in the book of Joshua, chapter 1, verse 9, that God will be with us wherever we go. Think of a young infant trying to walk —even when the baby stumbles and falls— the parent is still proud of his child because he’s slowly developing his abilities under his watch. In a similar sense, we are like that baby. Although we might stumble and fall, our Heavenly Father still loves us for enduring it all. For, according to the book of James, we are “His prized possession”.
