Hi Gents, I thought I’d jump on & introduce myself. I am Andy (45yrs), married with 4 kids (2 of which are step). I am a Surveyor for a Consultancy here in UK, having worked in Construction for nearly 30yrs. Andrew’s recently invited me to the Community, I’ve been working with Andrew for the last 3 months, digging around in some childhood trauma which has led to a gambling addiction and habit stretching back to teenage years. My current behaviours & decision making (or sometimes lack of) are having a profound effect on my day to day life and my loved ones, particularly my wife. A recent relapse (my first) has left my marriage on the brink and me battling to turn my life around in a time frame that doesn’t see me lose people I love deeply. I made a good start in my recovery earlier this year albeit with much work to with Andrew & by myself. Much of my decision making, particularly around gambling, finances and priorities of my family you could say were decisions executed by the child-like Andy. So there’s lots to work through. I’m looking forward to joining this community as I continue my journey not only in recovery but learning more about myself and becoming conscious and awake to the feelings & emotions that drive my thinking & actions, but also open up on those feelings that continue to remain dormant & not feature when I feel, and when I speak my truth. I also know that being part of a community is to contribute & help others and I’d like to think I have something to give to this group. Andy
