💰 Pokémon's 30th Anniversary — Is It Actually a Good Investment?
Hey Zardify! 👋 Let's talk about the MONEY side of Pokémon's 30th Anniversary. I've been seeing a lot of hype around these products, but as someone who buys, sells, and trades Pokémon, I think there are a few things we need to consider before putting our money in. 📦 1. More Supply = More Risk? Pokémon is printing plenty of products, which is great because more collectors get a chance to enjoy the set. But from an investment perspective, there's a downside. More packs opened = more cards entering the market. As supply increases, singles prices can fall, especially when early prices are inflated by hype. That means smaller margins for sellers and potentially bigger losses for people buying at peak prices. 📈 2. Does That Make It a Bad Investment? Not necessarily! I actually think this anniversary set could be an interesting long-term investment. More supply doesn't automatically mean a bad investment. It might just mean a longer holding period. Instead of expecting returns in 6–12 months, investors may need to think in terms of 3–5+ years. Of course, there's no guarantee prices will rise, but I'm interested in how sealed products perform once they're no longer readily available. 🔄 3. Flipping Is Getting Harder This is where I see the biggest challenge. Scalpers and resellers are aggressively buying up products, making it harder to find inventory at retail. And when you're paying inflated resale prices, your profit margins become extremely thin. Remember: You make your money when you buy, not just when you sell. Paying too much for a popular product can turn a profitable flip into a loss very quickly. ⏳ 4. Why I'm Not Buying Right Now Personally, I'm holding off on paying resale premiums. With more anniversary products scheduled for October and November, I think there's a reason to be patient. More releases could ease some of the demand pressure and potentially create better entry points. I'd rather miss a deal than force myself into a bad one. 💭 Final Thoughts I like the set. I like the nostalgia. And I definitely see long-term collecting potential.

🔥 Pokémon's 30th Anniversary — Worth the Hype?
Hey Zardify! 👋 I've been keeping a close eye on Pokémon's 30th Anniversary releases, and honestly, I'm pretty excited about what we're getting this year. Between the Pokémon Center ETBs, Day & Night UPCs, Booster Bundles, Mini Tins, and upcoming Mew & Mewtwo collections, there's definitely no shortage of products to choose from. But here's what I've been thinking... I've been reading through Reddit, particularly r/PokeInvesting and r/PokemonTCG, and the community seems pretty divided. ✅ The Good: - Incredible nostalgia and artwork, especially the Pikachu illustrations. - Some singles are becoming more affordable. - Plenty of unique sealed products for collectors. - Exclusive promos that could make certain products desirable long-term. ❌ The Bad: - Scalpers are still making products difficult to find at reasonable prices. - Some sealed products are selling at significant premiums. - Singles prices have been declining since release. - With more products coming, it's unclear how well current prices will hold up. 💰 My Personal Take If there's one thing I've learned from buying and selling Pokémon, it's that the price you enter at matters just as much as the product you choose. Personally, I'm most interested in the Pokémon Center ETBs and the Day & Night UPCs. However, I'm not willing to chase them at inflated prices just because they're anniversary products. Sometimes the smartest investment is knowing when to wait. I'll be breaking down individual products, prices, and potential opportunities in upcoming posts! 👇 Let's Talk! Which 30th Anniversary product are YOU most excited about? 🔥 Pokémon Center ETB 🌙 Day & Night UPCs ⚡ Booster Bundles 🎨 Mini Tins / Other Collections Or are you skipping sealed products entirely and picking up singles instead? Drop your thoughts below! 👇
