Yesterday I spent the day hanging out with a friend, so I made a bunch of food to bring along for our hike and picnic. I brought coconut water, chopped watermelon, cucumber and bell pepper veggie sticks, a spicy homemade dip, and a tomato zoodle dish. My friend isn’t raw or even vegan, but he loved everything I made! 😋 I did use plastic containers, which obviously aren’t ideal, but they’re much lighter and easier to carry than glass! I spiralised the noodles beforehand and kept them separate from the tomato sauce. Once you mix the sauce with the noodles, they release a lot of water and can get soggy, so I just combined them when I was ready to eat. It’s actually so easy to eat raw when you’re out and about or adventuring. You don’t need to worry about ice packs or food spoiling as there's nothing to go bad! Some of my other favourite foods to bring on hikes are dried fruit, bananas and dates. They’re lightweight, easy to carry, and will give you plenty of calories and energy to keep going. What’s your favourite food to take hiking or camping? 👇
