Never Assume there is a PSA test in your Blood Work
Sixteen years ago a friend told me in an airport that the problem I did not know I had, was my prostate. What I did after that is less dramatic than people expect. I looked into it, made some small changes, and made sure to get my PSA checked. That was about it for years. There was almost nothing to read back then, so there was not much else to do with it. But I did check. And I kept checking. I read about a man this week, 75 years old, who spent his career in operating rooms and assisted in more than twelve thousand heart surgeries. He moved onto a veterans' health service in the United States and assumed his yearly blood work covered his prostate. It did not, and nobody mentioned that it did not. His reading had been 4 in 2022. When he finally pushed for another one it came back at 26, and it had already left the prostate. He is not a careless man. He is a man who assumed. That is the part that sat with me. Assuming is the thing I have spent sixteen years watching cost men time they could have had. Not fear, not stubbornness. Just a quiet reasonable assumption that somebody else was handling it. So a question for this community, and I would rather have honest answers than tidy ones. Have you ever actually seen the PSA figure on your own results? Or do you only remember being told that everything was fine? https://www.skool.com/prostate-paladin-4886/about

Welcome to Prostate Paladin — You Are in the Right Place 💙
Hey, welcome — really glad you are here. Before you do anything else — introduce yourself and tell us where you are from and what your goal is. My name is Alex. Sixteen years ago a friend pulled me aside in an airport and told me I had a prostate problem I didn't even know about. I went home, opened a browser, and found almost nothing useful — some medical jargon, a few scary headlines, and no one talking to regular people in plain language about what any of it meant. As the years went by and I learned more about the prostate, I realized that although every man has a prostate - nobody was talking about it. There was no plain information available for men and their families out there. So I started building the thing I couldn't find. Prostate Paladin exists because prostate health affects every man — and the people around him — and yet it is one of the least talked about topics. The men won't bring it up. The families don't know how to start the conversation. And the internet is so full of noise it is hard to know what to pay attention to. That ends here. Here is what you will find in this community: Prostate Basics — clear, plain-language information about what the prostate is, what can go wrong, and what is normal at every age. The Conversation Corner — practical help for partners, children and families who want to start the conversation but aren't sure how. Symptoms, Tests & Diagnosis — what the tests mean, what the results tell you, and what questions to ask the doctor Treatment Options & Real Stories — what is available, what others have experienced, and how to move forward with confidence. One thing I want you to know: you are probably here because someone in your life has a prostate issue — and they are not talking about it. That is one of the most common situations in this community. You are not alone, and you are not overstepping by wanting to know more. Knowledge is armour. Awareness is key. I wrote 2 books about the prostate, Prostate Mania for men to cut through the noise and get plain language about the prostate, and Prostate for Women, for family members seeking to understand what their men are dealing with. They are available on Amazon.
